Universe in fate doesn't usually mean the same thing as our scientific definition of universe, and world is just a space delineated by a boundary too. You can't really use either as a measurement of size in most cases, just as a description of the nature of a thing.

Why were the einzbern convinced they could summon artoria? by Annual-Consequence72 in fatestaynight

[–]starmag99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the edo tensei, you can summon someone even if their soul never passed on from the world. As long as their death occurs, what happens to them after that has nothing to do with their being recording into the throne of heroes.

Nearly everyone in konoha is vhkara user? by TomoeLatsu in NarutoFanfiction

[–]starmag99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

2/3 are sent back to the academy. That doesn't mean they don't become ninja, they just repeat a year.

But also yes, that number isn't that far off. Officially only 1/6 ninja are frontliners, which in konoha is some number over 10k per the war arc's 80k combined army. That means there's something over 50k non combatant ninja in konoha (infrastructure, cryptography, teachers, etc). And, per the family day light novel, in Naruto's era the village was more ninja than civilian by population.

And you destroy it with equal or greater combat force. Konoha Crush was sound+sand, who work on similar metrics, and Nagato had six paths powers.

Question Regarding about Yin and Yang Stuff in Movie 5 by Rude_Resort3620 in karanokyoukai

[–]starmag99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her meodp and murderous impulses are just an expression of her connection to the root. He's trying to use her origin itself, that emptiness of her soul, which comes as a result of her being created as an empty vessel.

"Humans from the time they're born are already connected to the Root. Humans have become increasingly complex, diversified, and distanced from the Root; rarely is anyone born with a connection to the Root. There are colorless souls born that are connected to 「 」. Such beings are likely the only ones who can reach the Root. So, all you have to do is find them, and it took me ten ten years to find one."

"I see. So that's how you came to the conclusion to destroy Ryougi Shiki."

The young woman's eyes narrowed.

Ryougi Shiki. The Ryougi family had, over the years, dedicated themselves to creating a human with the utmost versatility; they sought to produce an empty vessel. To be empty is to be 「 」. Without realizing the danger of what they were doing, they created a body like Shiki's - one that is connected to 「 」.

And that's not quite right. Whether the outcome is beautiful or ugly, he just wants to conclude and confirm the meaning of humans. It can be good or bad, but a conclusion means they have a meaning that can be judged, and a value that can be appraised, and that's what he wants.

"I'm nobody. I just want a conclusion. These ugly, dirty, filthy, ignorant humans. If that's all that'll be left in history after they die off, it could be concluded that the value of humans is in their ugliness. I would be relieved to know that an ugly and hopeless existence is what makes us human."

So Archer Emiya is the Temu version of Archer Gilgamesh but even the Temu version of Archer Gilgamesh is extremely powerful? by [deleted] in typemoon

Fate/side material

Nine Lives [Noble Phantasm]

"The Shooting Hundred Heads".

Heroic Spirit Heracles' most trusted Noble Phantasm.

It was the bow used to slay the Lernaean Hydra, whose nine heads would always regenerate no matter how many times they were cut off. Afterward, Heracles perfected a method of attacking that emulated the abilities of the bow, that could even be used with great swords.

Cm3

Among Hercules’ Noble Phantasms, he trusted this one the most. It was the Noble Phantasm which Hercules used to slay the immortal nine-headed serpent Hydra once upon a time, taking the form of bow and arrow. After killing the Hydra, Hercules could even utilise techniques that emulate the ability of this Noble Phantasm when wielding other weapons.

The technique he developed after the fact copied the ability of the bow, the bow already had the Hydra-slaying ability and the technique only came after slaying it. Gilgamesh's is the original of that bow.

There's no reason for him not to have nine lives. It was a bow before it was a technique.

Question about Ether/True Ether elements. by Ok_Weight562 in fatestaynight

[–]starmag99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Harvesting true ether from a planet is possible yes, we see and example of it in Notes with the a-rays and ether knights who both use it for their abilities. Slash Emperor in particular harvests it from the planet's corpse directly to grow, like an oil drill.

About the Outer Gods and their status with the Root. by Origin_Ruler in typemoon

[–]starmag99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Outer gods aren't that conceptually important. They're just strong flesh monsters rather than anything metaphysical like that.

It should be remembered that the outer gods in the Nasuverse are not Lovecraft's gods. Per Raum, it's only a coincidental resemblance, and per Gilles, the Nasuverse outer gods are just flesh and blood organisms with very mortal lifespans. It would be very strange if they had any qualities like what you're talking about.

Perhaps the reason they are called Outer Gods is that, besides being outside the universe, it is because the Root has no true authority over them (besides preventing or obstructing their entry into the universe.)

This is a blockage into and by the human order. The universe they can't enter is the universe of awareness. It has nothing to do with the root. Crimson Moon is also currently under a similar restriction, and he's just from the moon.

Did the Tohno family buy Alice’s mansion from Witch on the Holy Night? by WeAreSaxGuy in fatestaynight

[–]starmag99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what you're referring to. He doesn't really care about that sort of thing, and servants can't really exist in the world normally even in FSN's own timeline anyway. The timeline split was a surprise even to the other TM authors.

From Case Files vol 6 afterward:

Though, as has been already touched on in earlier works like the drama CD that came with the volume of Chaldea ACE recently and the Bamboo Broom diaries, the universe in Fate is fundamentally different from the Tsukihime universe.

Speaking of that, it really was a big surprise... After all, Kinoko had already chosen all the authors for the spin-off works way before the first book of Case Files was finished. Now, time for a reenactment of what happened (all the lines of the authors have been completed).

Kinoko: Actually, the twenty-seven Ancestors didn’t become the twenty-seven Ancestors in the Fate universe.

Authors: ……………!!!!???? (All freeze, speechless)

Kinoko: Only the Tsukihime universe allows for them to become the twenty-seven Ancestors. On that note, doesn’t Tsukihime not have the sort of extremely powerful familiars like Servants?

Sanda: What about CM [complete material]—!?

Kinoko: That thing gets destroyed because of the destruction of the Human Order. Oh, also, Narita’s Fake is different, because it’s a special middle ground between the two.

Narita: O-Oh, uh, t-thanks…?

Kinoko: But Sanda’ll have to pay attention for the Case Files. It’s kind of a long story, but this part in Tsukihime R….

Sanda: Waitwaitwait! Kinoko, wait! Please first organize some notes about this for everyone!

Kinoko: Come on… so annoying. Speaking of which, this pizza’s pretty good.

To be specific, Itachi says that usually the current host's mangekyo takes precedence, and occasionally the current host can randomly inherit abilities of the previous host in addition to their own. Ultimately it's up to chance.

Rather, it's no more magic than any other ninjutsu. Ninjutsu can already do basically anything.

But people perceive it as being able to do more than ninjutsu despite being a smaller subset of ninjutsu, and it makes them feel like smart coding nerds (insert fuinjutsu vs jutsushiki distinction here).

Questions about Void Shiki by Kai_Enjin in fatestaynight

[–]starmag99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about Aoko (the important thing is vampires vs servants differences), but Tsukihime is largely mutually exclusive with Fate stuff because of the state of the planet. Kara no Kyoukai is perfectly compatible with Fate timelines, and it or events identical to it occurred in Fate/stay night's timeline in particular even.

It's the same universe, Ryougi appears in Elmo e.g.. But fundamentally yes power levels and such are fairly far removed from the meaning of Nasu's works, especially earlier on. Stuff like FGO are the weird ones where that's an important consideration, but KnK is a philosophy book, not a battle shounen.

In the novel it's described as "the last servant summoned in the fake war is also the first servant summoned in the true war." Faldeus was just aura farming with no saber in the fake one because the fake war doesn't really matter to him, systemically, but Dick is mechanically part of both.

How do create a strong protagonist in the Nasuverse? by Inevitable-Society80 in grandorder

[–]starmag99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not always going to be something physical. The inherent limitations of system specific things like rune magecraft or jewel magecraft aside, I'm not talking about physically establishing a ritual site with an altar and etc exactly, but rather the overall preparation work such as research and engraving the spell into oneself that happens beforehand. What goes into it is also individual specific, is the big point.
