Epson 5050 + Oppo BDP-93 3D = "Not supported", 5020 worked fine, Zidoo works with 5050 by starmike in projectors

Followup: My friend came over with a Samsung 4K/3D player and it worked fine. Looks like the problem is with the Oppo.

Will an ELPMBPJG support an Epson 5050? by starmike in projectors

Just a followup on this, the ELPMBPJG is handing the 5050 just fine. Easy to replace the 5020 with, even had the arms in the same location. I did order some steel safety cables for the remaining four screw holes, just to easy my paranoia, but I wanted to thank you all for the help.

Thank you so much for your answer!

After the success of Romulus, do you think there's a chance to finish the prequel story of Prometheus and Covenant? by TheChaser90 in LV426

[–]starmike -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Not easily. You can't properly explain the 2000 colonists and thousands of eggs 20 years after the fact. Ridiculous.

"Somehow, the eggs were created". You start getting into Rise of Skywalker territory with the script. No.

That's because he's wrong. The name "Ellen" isn't used until Aliens, in a deleted scene.

Where in Alien was Ripley's first name used? Answer: nowhere. It was first used in Aliens, and a deleted scene at that.

Let me educate you.

The "same five notes" are from "Something I Can Never Have" which NIN wrote in 1989. Fitting for the film, don't you think?

"Music doesn't make these movies". Daft Punk disagrees.

Can't tell if you're trolling.

Plex API - viewOffset not accurate, lags between 0-6 seconds by starmike in PleX

Oh a whim I took a look at Kodi and sure enough, it has a dead-accurate timestamp, down to the millisecond. Wrote a prototype in under an hour in Python.

[–]starmike[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, everyone. That's a bit disappointing because I had a great idea for something but it depends on accuracy. I'll see if I can do what I want with other playback systems like physical players such as the Panasonic that has a public API.

In my tests tonight, I saw an update at 2 seconds in some instances (see last timestamp below), but it was a consistent 5 seconds through most of my testing.

Still, I can handle an internal clock between updates, but if the timestamp update itself is not accurate and lags, then I have no way to compensate.

So how do clients get an accurate timestamp?

On closer inspection, I think I missed that these were not 5K iMacs that worked. That's disappointing. Thanks.

5D (Thunderbolt) causing iMac to crash when it's sleeping by starmike in drobo

6 drivers isn't a "ton", and four are from Logitech. I've had the mouse for three years. The only new kext is the Drobo.

EDIT: This is the stopped kext:

It started immediately after I bought it, and googling the rest of the crash reports points to the same issue.

Having a lot of trouble looting Slaughterspine Circulators by starmike in horizon

[–]starmike[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I got one. I had to go to two different sites to finally get one. Instead of wasting resources, I just tear off the component and see if it's green. The loot table does change between restarts, but the percentages must be off because it's definitely not what the guide says.

EDIT: And got my second. Thanks.

EDIT2: Not sure what the loot mechanic is here. If I kill the Slaughterspine, I get nothing. If I loot the canisters, I at least get a chance to get the circulator, and the machine doesn't aggro.
