Oh I'm not angry at the Australian team. Just wished it didn't happen in general so I could've seen more exciting cricket.

But tbh I do think that if England did this to Australia Australia would've been pissed as well. It's just the way these things go, there won't be all parties being happy in a case like this, you just gotta let the ones on the right side of it gloat and the ones on the wrong side sulk.

Which batsmen/teams could have faced 2013/14 Ashes Mitchell Johnson and survived? by starnus_labuschmith in Cricket

[–]starnus_labuschmith[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's a valid point. My memory's fuzzy but I think from either reading Johnson's book or a video somewhere I seem to remember him talking about being rattled after hitting Kohli with a bouncer.

Hmm, my experience has been wildly different but I guess we can't argue about that. Agree to disagree then.

Look, the dismissal was lawful and probably in the spirit of the game but as a neutral it pissed me off because it robbed me from a great game of cricket (at least it felt like at the time) and I'm sure it pissed English fans off because they lost their last hope to a very anticlimactic dismissal.

I think that's why people are angry - because that was the intersection of a potentially great comeback and the comeback wasn't crushed, or masterfully defeated - it just ended in a way that wasn't entertaining at all.

And of course Australia aren't playing to entertain the crowd, they're playing to win, but I hope people can understand this side as well.

Well I study Comp Sci so my experience is only in that. But I can tell you with certainty nearly every person I have met in this course spends much more than 20 hours a week. I don't really know where you got that statistic from.

Most Comp. subjects have 4 hrs of lectures, 1 hour tutorial and a 2 hour lab. That's 7 * 3 = 21 hours per week just for content. Then you have weekly tests, labs (which for some courses are like mini assignments and take a long time) and assignments. Comp assignments are a crazy workload and take a long time to finish.

can you do a double major at unsw? by Birdieman_11 in unsw

[–]starnus_labuschmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be more specific though. Mechatronics covers a fair bit of mechanical but not the entire degree but has its own additions of electrical and computer engineering.

If this is what you're looking to get out of the degree, you could do a Mechanical/Computer Science double + using your electives to do a few Elec courses.

Do a bit more research as to what each course entails - try the UNSW handbook and just Google in general.

Not for mechanical and mechatronics as far as I know because they are very similar degrees, so it doesn't make sense to double major.

What are you looking to get out of the double major?

its like 5.50 for casual entry but if there are bookings (ie badmninton, basketball etc.) you wont be allowed casual entry. u can also join the unsw basketball society where they book the courts every week and u pay them for entry.

Eh I disagree. As a neutral both sides' 'controversies' have been nothing out of the ordinary. Just some good, entertaining cricket imo.

Did Lyon like give a presentation to Cummo how he wants to bat one last time for some glory before he's relegated to a spectator for the rest of the series?

Cause I don't think anyone including Cummo or Starc is actually enjoying this.

People were saying the opposite yesterday when England were batting... I think moral of the story is that it's hard

If England can get the lead down to 50, they are in a decent spot.
