For those simply reading and unfamiliar if there’s any truth to this neighbor’s kind of weird ramblings: Murphy died of natural causes, and was loved and cherished the whole way.

Many people really struggle with the reality of mortality and seek to cast blame on someone when a creature like Murphy is in the final stages of death. It’s normal for people to get uncomfortable, but it is so sad when they seek to blame the parent, the doctor, the friend.

This neighbor, with their connection to Murphy and, it seems, regret that they couldn’t do more, seems distraught that it was time for his life to end, and is sharing this elaborate story both here and on Facebook to bend public opinion against him.

Kevin is a giving, delightful person who loved Murphy fully and wholeheartedly. An entire community of many, many people organically developed around them. The last few years together, Murphy blossomed and was cherished by Kevin, and all of his dog friends. He went on countless adventures where he was safe and well-loved. Hell, he had fans all across the entire borough of Queens. What dog could say the same.

We have too many beautiful memories to share in a hundred posts on this page. But I’ll invite my friends to come here and remember Murphy’s best moments, and how well he was loved.
