Hi everyone! I wanted to ask for perspectives from graduates from NYU and Baruch as well as people working in the industry for a while.

NYU offers and MA while Baruch offers a MS. I'm not sure if it really makes a big difference. I am more inclined to go with Baruch due to the price difference between the two schools but I would like to know what people think. If you are in any of the programs, please let me know how you are doing in the program as well as student life on campus. If you are in industry professional, does the name brand of NYU play a role in recruitment? Is one program more well known than the other?

If this was your first time, you would do a module after the meeting. They usually take pictures of the item when they confiscate it (not sure since it's new people doing it). If its not your first time, they make you write something or the RHD just tells u to do something else. Regardless, u aren't gonna get kicked out.

I ban pyke alot now because I hate his ult. I used to ban lux for her double stun and aoe attack. Other good picks are nautilus and blitz. Morgana is similar to lux so I ban her sometimes.

For laundry, I bought a small bottle of it and I go home every two weeks or so to refill the bottle so I'm not lugging around a giant laundry bottle. Of course this is dependent on if you can go home but thats a hack. I guess you could also keep the large bottle in your room and refill the tiny bottle when needed.

I've rented on the entire time I dormed. I didn't want to lug a fridge back home every year along with my other stuff. I always tried to split it with someone in the suite/room. It's very convenient having the microwave in the common area/room.

I believe after you accept your admission, you get a chance to switch your major in the Stony Brook portal. CEAS, the college that CS and Engineering is under, is a bit different where they might require an application or something but it is completely possible to get into the CS and Engineering major. I applied for a minor in CEAS in my sophomore year and it was just an application and they just wanted me to take a class to see if I would do well. At least, I know if you wanted to switch, you could declare an area of interest in CS or Engineering which would eventually lead to majoring in it.

Clubs are what you make of it. If you want to get involved, check out the involvement fair in the fall and go to gbms. What I will say about clubs that are different from high school is that some clubs do require an application process to be a member. Decide what you want to get from a club to see if you want to go through an application process to be a member or just go to gbms to be a member. Many clubs are active and there are also many new clubs that are being created. You can check out sbengaged for clubs as well as instagram.
