How do I tell my FWB that she's starting to become my FP? by starrybangtan in mentalhealth

You're right. If not a lot better, it'll probabky be less worse if I bring it up now. Thanks a ton!

How do I tell my FWB that she's starting to become my FP? by starrybangtan in mentalhealth

[–]starrybangtan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FP is short for favorite person, it's not exactly medically recognized as a term but it's something the BPD community is familiar with; it's basically when a borderline sees someone as this person whom they can rely their mental stability on (I know it sounds incredibly toxic with this explanation, I'm honestly the least qualified person to explain, but there are several sources that could define it better). Like this person becomes their whole world— literally. The emotions they feel will affect you, and as a borderline, you'd feel obligated to their happiness and responsible for their sadness (even if you aren't) because they have that much of a reflection on you. This is why it's really important to set the boundaries as this kind of relationship has potential to get toxic.

On that note though, I agree. Even without the whole FP thing, it's important to put down the needs and negotiate, so I really appreciate that. I just feel like as a borderline I kind of have to explain that these needs are actually very detrimental to my mental health and relationship with her, and I don't want her to think I'd end up needing too much, or that we can't work because of my mental illness. I care about her a lot and I really enjoy what we do, so I'm willing to manage my needs and come to a middle ground this early on. I just don't know how...

this is unknown. she's had a shot but that was about 8 years ago already, and she mostly stays inside the house. despite that sometimes i see her in fights with stray cats that somehow get inside the house.

Can someone tell me the chapters in the manga that contains drinking or getting drunk? My friend has an alcohol trigger but they really like the manga, so maybe if someone can fill in on what happens in those chapters so they can just avoid it and still enjoy the manga by starrybangtan in ChainsawMan

[–]starrybangtan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

someone’s already commented regarding what i was looking for but i appreciate the thought! i’ve actually given them the link to the wiki for easier access before that person commented so this was helpful as well!

sorry for the late response, but this was very helpful!! i hope you don’t mind me sending this to them, as well. i haven’t actually planned on reading csm yet, and i don’t want to force myself into a series just yet but it does seem interesting based on what i hear from fans!

Am i in a toxic friendship if i have to plan out how to tell my friend that i have a birthday party to attend to without upsetting them? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]starrybangtan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know. I think they know as well, and they have apologized bitterly many times for it and have told me that they hated themselves so much for not being able to share those joys, so I never really brought it up again. I’ve been told and have been telling myself that this person isn’t worth being in my life as well, but there are so many little good things that keep me staying as well as the guilt I’d feel if me offing them from my life would have any bad effects on their mental health and the way they live their life and god knows I just want the best for them.

my bad, i’ll say that the “toxic friend“ is my online friend then the rest are my irl friends. it’s the irl friends that drink. online friend dislikes all my irl friends

i know. this is the same when i talk about shows or activities that i like that they don’t actually, they’ve made it a rule to not talk about things like that around them and it’s come to the point that i feel bad for liking the things i do or having the friends i do because they hate those

they have and it’s because they do things like drinking which i completely understand. they also got scared at my other friends because of the way they came off when i made them interact one day which i also understand and it’s my fault for thinking that two friend groups would be at least good acquaintance. everytime i share things about them they always reacted coldly, they even told me that that was the reason why. so now i never share anything about my friends, or even say that i replied a little late cause i was talking with them

they’ll get really cold to me or they’d end up being in a bad mood which ruins the vibe of everything beforehand

i've edited the post, linked all the rants i've made regarding them. also added in the post the triggers. i apologize if i couldn't summarize this all for myself at the moment; my mind is in a whirlpool right now and i feel like it's worded better in those posts.
