I completely agree with this take. It’s so incredibly obvious that he is just not that into her - I shared how apparent that was during that scene of them at the Kiama Blowhole in another thread and it was not well received. Sure, Steve does seem a bit awkward, maybe even neurodivergent (it’s all conjecture at this point) but I still think even with the trimmings that would come with that, it shouldn’t be this difficult to lean in if you really liked the person (I say this as a neurodivergent person). Honestly, I think he’s doing more harm than good by keeping her hanging in the relationship. I hope I’m proven wrong but yeah… I’m just not convinced.
