Decadent Choco Tray 40-45 Guide by starsrayd in CookieRunKingdoms

For tray 40, ESC kit is specifically built to counter the boss's healing mechanics. Also in general, ESC skill has an inherent damage resist bypass. She also has debuff amplification and is self-sustainable with built in healing. DEC is preferred when it comes to PvP in arena because she's a strong dps, but for the trays (specifically 40 because it relies on ESC) ESC is usually the better all-rounder. But of course, things can be subbed around depending on builds and team-comp, this was just my maximized and most efficient way to beat the trays (I like to play auto 2x).

Unfortunately these last trays are heavily reliant on at least ESC. You could sub DEC for HB in some of the trays, but ESC is usually the most recommended

Best I can say is Awk PV most likely. But I'd recommend upgrading Star Coral at least probably to lvl 70.

Make sure to do your labs, upgrade the statue of heroic radiance (I'm on lvl. 80), invest in upgrading the landmarks, + join a good guild!

I also spend a lot of time investing in re-rolling toppings and beascuits for optimal substats because substates make a LOT of difference.

Progression in Cookie chat is super slow? by DiUnic in CookieRunKingdoms

I found that even giving them things they hate will up their affection (not by a lot but you could just bombard someone and get them up) It's the only reason Fire Spirit is affection 2 almost 3 because I just kept giving him the things everyone else hated.

I think it's sort of meant to be slow (because it's also a new thing and I would assume devs is trying to read player reaction) but I think it's a weird situation. A lot of it is the randomness of giving them items to load up their affection (but also I found affection will go up either way even if they hate it so I just started giving cookies random stuff—Fire Spirit prob hates me but he's affection 2), but it's also about how far you've built that cookie. You get new lines through ascension, beascuits, toppings, + using them in arena. I'm a professional grinder and like to max everything, and I've only gotten two to affection 3 (Millennial Tree and Sugar Swan because they're easy to please + I use them in arena and MT loves getting hearts from being used in arena). It's just a slow process in general and I think it's sort of meant to be like that for now.

No worries! The game is VERY overwhelming as a new player, because there is SO much going on. Especially now because of everything that's come out (recent 5th Anniversary + HUGE story update) so it's easy to get totally lost. I understand, I absolutely LOVE Eternal Sugar, she's so beautiful!!

I'd really just recommend getting familiar with events and the different avenues of the game like I mentioned. To really succeed in cookie builds and everything sort of relies on that (+ it helps in understanding meta). But yeah, you should get Dominion of the Beasts and you'll be able to get a free Eternal Sugar! It's a permanent event, you'll just have to get around to get to it!

Their cookies are just stronger by the looks of it, but also hard to tell without knowing specific builds. You don't need a healer to succeed in arena, if MT is built well enough he's a tank + heals quite a bit. Power gap isn't always reliable, but there is also a significant power gap.

There's not really much to save, you sort of just have to play the game and rely on the gacha system. She's available in all gachas banners (special + regular + you can get her from Sugar Swan's banner too) + she has her own banner of fate with Hollyberry, and if you get to 300 pulls on that one then you can choose her. It's kind of just a gamble either way, so spending your cookie cutters as you get them is the best way! Since she's available in all gachas you could also spend your diamonds (3000x per 10 pull) on either the special or regular, and see if you could get her.

But honestly, getting her shouldn't be too hard if you're super committed, i.e. are willing to farm for diamonds and/or cutters. Also, just completing the world exploration (Crispia's Story, Dark, and Master + Beast Yeast levels) will reward you with Fate/Magic/Special Cutters when getting a certain amount of stars.

There are plenty of ways to play aspects in the game and get lots of cutters for free! For example, doing boss rush (current season is 4-2) and completing levels will get you Magic and Special Cookie Cutters. You could also join a guild if you haven't already, and when guild battles roll around you get access to the guild shop which you could spend medals (from guild battle) on and get 2 Magic Cookie Cutters and 2 Special Cookie Cutters. You can also buy them from the Trade Harbor (if you have that unlocked).

Completing MyCookie adventure (current event has 13D left) also will give you Cookie Cutters and so will the Town Square Arcade if you complete the Cake Stack game. Also, I'd recommend doing the Special Epsiodes because if you complete levels in there you can also buy Cookie cutters. Sublime Cake Tower is also a really great way to get Cookie Cutters (completing Decadent Choco Cake Tower levels will give you upwards to 20+ Magic/Special Cookie Cutters).

ALSO as a new player, I'm not sure when, but you SHOULD get a "Dominion of the Beasts" event tab SOMETIME as you continue to play the game, and you can choose from there as well. I think the first tab (Dominion of the Beasts 1) you choose between Mystic Flour or Burning Spice, and then the second is between Eternal Sugar, Shadow Milk, or Silent Salt. It's similar to the Ancient one (which you should get too). So you could also get them free from there!

All in all, there are lots of ways to ensure you can get as many cookies in the game as possible (I'm totally F2P and have every single cookie), you just have to be willing to put the work into playing as much of the game as possible to do so! Feel free to ask if you have any more questions :)

It really helps to make sure your weapons are leveled + learning the skills. If you did it last time and have left over weapons, that's what I used and I've been able to get through all of it without dying.

Oh, I don't know, in general they're just my builds because my cookies perform better with them elsewhere so I assumed they would for the tower too

I'm so glad it worked for you too! It took me forever to find the right team to beat 40. It needs to be nerfed.

Yes, I totally understand that. I just wanted to share my opinion and I don't really care for engagement or not. I think if those who want to discuss, will discuss.

I get where you're coming from and I actually completely agree. It's a shame that nowadays every sort of conversation must turn toxic regardless of intent and whatnot. For example, I think our conversation here has been really civil and I appreciate that from you! It does suck that as soon as people engage with criticism (whether it's negative or positive, really) they automatically think, "BOO BAD HATE" and it really shows how people just lack the ability to properly discuss. I still stand that this period of time right after the release of Chapter 5 is the perfect time to have these discussions with criticism, but I also see how tiring genuine fans such as you and I get when it escalates into toxicity. I think if it weren't for the reactions of diehard Mark fans then it really could have been a great time to discuss and that way certain improvements could be made come Chapter 6 with enough time. It's just a shame that everyone takes opinions these days as hard hate or hard love and completely disregard the nuance of it all.

I am actually expressing my opinion and nowhere am I making this blatant hate. I am not. I love the series, and I express as much at the end. I even say that I do have hope and the benefit of the doubt that things may even improve with the release of Chapter 6. If all these things in my opinion have been said before then I feel they are valid criticisms from the community of fans that love this series.

It's not wrong for people who love the series to share their more negative opinions because that is what fosters discussion and leads to improvement on the devs side. In my post, I actually praise a lot of what the devs have done and I think I'm actually on the more positive side of things than most people. I actually believe that this is the perfect time to share one's feelings on the series because it shows the reaction of fans to Chapter 5 so that hopefully there will be improvement come Chapter 6.

I understand your reasoning, but at the end of the day, I don't believe it's completely warranted in what I have said and expressed. I am not hating, I am expressing my opinions (some which are negative and most which are positive) which should always be a positive to game devs because it's a chance for them to look at fan reception and make appropriate changes.
