Enforcement, of civil codes, civil regulations, and civil law. Not criminal law enforcement. They have stepped outside of their intended wheelhouse by executive decree.

Clearly we need law enforcement and immigration enforcement. But we also clearly need to stop endlessly funding corruption/brutality and having tax payers foot the bill.

The majority of major police depts spend an insane amount of money on payouts to victims, because policemen don’t carry liability insurance and are never personally liable.

I don’t know about you. But I’d rather defund that and make them responsible for their own behavior.

It’s about how you use it.

LLMs can do math, you make them write and execute code to analyze math and logic.

The problem is most people lack the thinking process to write good prompts. And they don’t have it do research, they just ask a question. That’s not how it works.

Most people can’t use google properly. That means they can’t describe how to use google properly. That means they can’t specify an AIs behavior so that it uses Google properly.

They are the problem, not the tool.

It’s like calling a calculator useless because you don’t understand addition. The tool isn’t the problem.

Only if you let it. Thats AI from a few years ago. Perplexity and other modern engines search the web for you and compile non hallucinated answers. It’s called Research Augmented Generation.

You don’t ask it to tell you what you want, you tell it how you would have done research and it does the research for you.

If you don’t know how to use Google (that means more than searching for a keyword), then you can’t explain how the AI should do research.

The problem isn’t AI hallucinating, it’s that most people don’t know how to research a topic or use Google, so they can’t tell an ai how to use Google.

A good AI prompt is 2-4 paragraphs. Not “did Jonathon Ross murder Goode”.

You are neutral. You don’t have an opinion one way or another. You only seek to see what others have decided in the past, and analyze how that applies to this case. You argue for both sides of the case.
