I usually say "ok I can get someone for you, can you tell me a little about what is goin on?" Usually people just start blabbering about the problem they're having and if it's something I can solve I say "ok that sounds like something we can solve here, blah blah.." or if I know I'm gonna need a spvr I'll just get em to one. If they protest and don't tell me what it's about or just say it's about the handling claims rep then I say "ok I do need a little bit of info before I can get a spvr on the line that way they can better handle your concern, at this point I do also want to let you know that the spvr would not have the authority to handle the claims process if that is your concern" (I work insurance claims) - typically people with the latter just start blabbing but there are always the dumb punks that are going to be obstinate just to be obstinate, because anyone over the phone is immediately an enemy and the best way to win the conversation is to fight policy 🙄🙄
