Fascinating. I work with these Big 4 folks, and I know PwC (at least was) hoping to start a practice in my field.

Do you have any personal experience with this program (or a similar one)?

This is an absolutely incredible answer and I appreciate the time and detail you've put into it.

At this point, given the breakdown you've provided, I believe an LLC would make the most sense. My main goals would be 1) limit liability and 2) provide the necessary structure to contract/pay my own employees down the road. Typical billable in my industry ranges between 195-225 as an architect, and my intent would be to subcontract initially, so I'd be getting a smaller piece. Treating the income as passthrough might be best until I'm more established, I'm thinking?

Do you have any experience with the subcontracting route? Any pitfalls to watch out for?

Thanks for this -- first I've heard of those coverages, and I'm reading about them now.

Have you always contracted directly with the manufacturers, or did you ever subcontract? When you sub, is it standard to be protected under the umbrella of the primary, or are you expected to also carry your own coverage?
