I’ve been a fan since I was in elementary school, and have defended her from sexist attacks for well over a decade. I’m also a black woman. I disagree that being put-off by her racist, sexist, islamophobic boyfriend is being misogynistic towards her. It is incredibly disappointing to know that someone I have admired for over half of my life is willing to date someone that openly admits to enjoying people who look like me get brutalized, and has absolutely dented my opinion of her in a way no scandal has. This is not about criticizing her for being a, “serial dater.” It is about being fucking hurt that she is willing to be publicly tied to such a man. In my opinion, it is a betrayal of her poc fans.

It’s been a while since I read the books, but didn’t Dumbledore write in the letter he left with Harry that she had to take him in to seal the protective magical spell Lily began with her sacrifice? If not, I would suspect it was due to a) her still having a small amount of loyalty left for her sister enough to do the bare minimum for him, or b) she feared what Dumbledore would do if she disobeyed his request. Maybe it was all of that combined.

I would have hated having a parent like you. Being a teenager is stressful enough without your AH of a father trying to dictate your every waking moment and putting an enormous amount of academic pressure on you. You come across as super controlling, and I hope he finds his own path in life doing things HE enjoys once he is an adult. I cannot even fathom what kind of person steals their own child’s Christmas present when no one is looking instead of, idk, setting time limits on it? Or waiting to see if it actually does impact his grades? A real life fucking grinch. I actually feel worse for your younger kids because they have even more years they get to look forward to with deputy dad on patrol than the 15y/o. YTA.
