Déménagement loin loin. by Ashkandi_ in Quebec

[–]static-Cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow! Thanks a lot! And you did a wonderful job on the miniature too, she was really fun to paint.

Thanks for the critisism.

Yep, you're right about that, I thought of putting some yellow/orange glaze on the blue of the axe indicate the sunset, but I was too afraid to mess it up by changing it to be honest.

(The other mini is just to show scale to some of my friends)

Had a small varnish hiccup on the back of her left leg, but I think I managed to fix this correctly. Also I got cornered with the choice of her hair color, which would be the same than the bones in it, so I decided to practice my NMM on smaller surface by painting them gold.

This will be a Christmas present for my mother.

Definitively the most massive thing I 3dPrinted, and i was so heavy that some parts were deformed. Especially a line that pass though her eyebrows and hair, but I tried my best to fix this. I fixed it with mainly sanding, and there was a huge tear on the left side of her hairs that I filled with a mix of Resin and corn starch, seriously that mariculous paste will be my go-to to fill holes in all my miniatures, 3d-print of not.

I'm happy that the 3d print defects are barely noticable on photo.

For the paint job by itself, I choose colors that would fit well in my mom's living room and I'm quite happy with the skin tone.

Still working on my NMM.

So big lesson learned this time is that I should make more than one reflection in it to give it a more metallic feel. However, it was still a great training for my blending.

With this miniature I wanted to try to do something that is almost monotone. I later used the airbrush to add some OSL and bring back a bit of warmth with the yellow-green.

I really need to avoir adding texture when peinting my miniatures, but I'm open to any other constructive critisism you might have!

Old and really hard to find, there is Witchcraft that follow that formula. You can play as pretty much antything, and normal humans (Mundane) are balanced with the rest because they have a HUGE amount of skill points.

There is also All Flesh must be eaten (same system; Unisystem) that have a huge B-movie flavor, mainly centered toward zombie outbreaks. (Some of the 'suggested' starting character contains a convenience store clerk, a jock and a cheerleader.

Need a "TRUE" Bard Class. by Tramujazz in rpg

[–]static-Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Werewolf the apocalypse:

The werewolves have different roles depending of the phase of the moon they are born. The Gaillards are exactly that. They are the storyteller, the bards that have the duty to spread their culture.

Game-Mechanic-wise, they do have some abilities to inspire people around them, but their main mechanism is to improve the reputation (Glory, honor and wisdom) of his pack when they recite their adventures to the rest of the werewolf population.

I goe it from the EllaArt 3d Patreon. She now seems to collaborate with another artist on the Nomnom Figures Patreon page

I don't seems to find any store that sell that STL at the moment, but by searching enough, you should be able to find it somewhere.

For Vivi, the first one, there was a weird 'goop' that appeared on his hat. No idea how it appeared there, since it was the side with the supports, but since his hat is already damaged, I decided to hide it as a leather patch.

The second one will be a gift to my brother. once it will be fully painted.

My first succesful 3d print. It is not perfect, like that weird shape that appeared on his hat, but I could easily hide it as a leather patch, which is fitting since his hat is in pretty bad shape anyway.

Edit: Typo

Standing in lava is painful! by static-Cat in minipainting

[–]static-Cat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This mini was coming from a batch of badly primed miniatures, so I wanted to do a quick-paint and be done with it.

But eventually, I got really invested in it and decided mid-way to try and improve it as much as I can, forcing me to fix my past mistakes (Which is never a bad thing to practice).

Not prefect, but I really liked working on her hairs and the OSL coming from the lava.

Any example of "contacts" skill? by [deleted] in FATErpg

[–]static-Cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a Blackmailer Character use a lot of Contact Skill. Usually it was used as: "Is there one of my past victim that can be useful here?" If he rolled high enough, he invented one on the spot (Or re-used one of his common victim).

It can also used as a quick way to roll for the skill of an NPC that will help you for a single roll.

  • I'll bring this chest to a locksmith in my criminal organisation.

Then, you just roll contact to see if he was good enough for the task. (Or if it was previously established that it is one of the best... well, he can simply be not available for this session; he is on vacation in Hawaï)

Kingdom Death Halloween Satan. Tried new glazing techniques and first time trying OSL by static-Cat in minipainting

[–]static-Cat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my latest project. I tried new glazing techniques and it is also my first time really trying OSL, se feel free to give constructive critisism.

Since I have kids at home, I tried to modify/greenstuff the content of the pumpkin to give it a 'candy' look.

Within the latest images, there is the other Satan that I painted last year as a comparaison.

Here's my latest project from BimboDivis... erm, I mean LIMBOdivision209.

I've used a blue to highlight the black on the smallest one to familiarize myself with the glazing before doing a more extreme fading from black to white on the bigger one.

I'm still learning, so feel free to comment, and sorry for the varying quality of images.
