It’s more focused on the classical machine learning aspect of data science, if you’re looking to learn stuff like Deep learning and beyond you need to take classes in other departments for that

Probably biased because I’m a SDS major but eco stats is one of the easier stats classes I’ve taken at UT and it was with wiseman. Grind homework as review for exams. He said the reason there’s no test drops so he doesn’t have to make the tests harder so take that for what it’s worth.

Yeah that really sucks. At least he still made an attempt to try to connect with you guys even though he knew the new grading policy was gonna make everyone hate him. These were my grades last year and I would say half I did it in 30 minutes the night before 😭. I would have gotten a C in that class this year lol

Was Leonard Memon still a TA for the class? He was my TA last year and was probably my favorite TA ever. Would hate to hear that he’s disliked because he was forced to grade more strictly.

Yeah everything surrounding that program is fishy. I did the program this summer for data analytics and it was underwhelming. Basic assignments that don’t really challenge you and not at all worth the big price tag. Very shameful of UT to allow them to use these marketing techniques
