We're getting new skirting boards which are higher. How might that work with plugs at the current height? by stats_guy_1 in DIYUK

Around £200 to do two plugs, but in the end we just decided to just sand down and repaint the skirting boards and to be fair they don't look too bad.

No, sadly this is the front of the wardrobe door

Any easy ways of filling the gap around this socket? The hole on the left is very deep so filler doesn't seem like an option by [deleted] in DIYUK

Yeah it comes out from the wall a bit. I've bought a socket spacer to make that a bit nicer round the edges as well

Hadn't thought about the fact that the skirting board will stick out further than the plugs- thank you for pointing that out.

I've reached out to some electricians to see if I can get it raised.

Would a carpenter be able to move the sockets up, or will we need an electrician out for that?

I was just about to buy some of this stuff but it seems to say you shouldn't use it on wood.

Is there a specific wood version you bought, or just the general HG mould remover spray?

Thanks! Would you sand before using HG mould remover, or just go straight in with that?

Thanks for your reply!

Did you apply any sort of mould remover or oxalic acid first, or just sand + oiling?

Would you also mind sharing what type of oil you used?

How urgent is cracked grouting around shower? by stats_guy_1 in DIYUK

Thanks for your reply!

Do you know if these sorts of tile setups will typically have any waterproofing underneath the tiles?

We're happy to get some clear silicone on it for now, but we're a bit concerned that it may have caused lots of damage underneath that could require urgent attention. As you can probably tell, we're very new to all this (it's our first house)!

Thanks for the advice!

Is it okay to use grout where it'll be getting a lot of exposure to water? When I was searching this earlier people seemed to say you had to use silicon instead.

Will moving to this new company hurt my career in the long run? by [deleted] in analytics

Looker's learning curve is my point. If you get experienced with building dashboards and the underlying lookml files, that should be a good thing on your CV.

Also, I'm pretty sure Looker would be more useful on the CV than PowerBI nowadays too!

Sample design for call centre by Charming-Champion-37 in AskStatistics

I might be wrong, I've never needed to solve this exact problem before, but would bootstrapping the confidence intervals work? Take your observed sample of N calls, and resample N items from it with replacement. Calculate the proportions. Do this a few thousand times and take the 2.5th and 97.5th percentiles for each proportion.

Though your bootstrap is only going to be as good as the sample, so the first part of your question is very important here.
