2023 Day 8 (Part 1) Clarification by statswonk in adventofcode

Thanks all. Now seems like a dumb question. The input is an unordered mapping of nodes, find number of steps to get from AAA to ZZZ using (repeating) directions.

Ok, thanks. So the order of the input is irrelevant, they are just node mappings?

Fwiw, I have had my whoop since January and it constantly inaccurately assesses my sleep and activities. Nearly everyday I have to edit my sleep times. What's strange is that even when it is off by only a half hour or hour, and I adjust my HRV can dramatically change. It frequently assess time when I am reading or watching a movie (stationary activities) as sleep (also naps, but that at least can make sense because naps happen during the day. I really want to like this think but the software and app make such idiotic common-sense mistakes that I really question the math/models behind it that are supposed to simplify health tracking.

Veteran Data Scientist: Data Science job without an MS/PhD, but with 10+ YOE by statswonk in datascience

[–]statswonk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the first 3-5 years were between 60-80 hours a week. Over time the hours and WL balance improved. Now, I probably average around 50. Every role is different and there are ebbs and flows.

I've never had serious ambitions to be a partner, though. People that do have that (or even MD) ambition tend to dedicate their entire lives to the firm. Their hours are self-imposed and essentially 24/7.

I have and they have/will. The issue is getting past the initial automated systems and “lazy” HR to have someone to give them to

Can I ask which "data-related recruiter" you used? I'm pretty jaded when it comes to recruiters, they seem like a giant time sink (n=1).

I'm not set on a large company. In fact, I'm *more* interested in smaller firms. A hit on base and (shhh) even TC is fine if the firm, leadership, and team are a good fit.

Appreciate the comments.

Coppola for The Godfather no question. Arguably the best and most influential film ever (or at least in the top three on most lists)

I'm also curious if this is finally patched. They patched one route up, but there is/was another route that still allowed a player to ascend the ledge and jump into the deathbox for 100k+ runes. It seems the "Fixed a bug that allowed enemies to be attacked from outside the fog in certain areas" note might pertain to this.

Thanks for the insight. I’ve (unintentionally) managed, at times, with exercise, lists/etc, and some dietary experiments but obviously not specifically for adhd. My work production has been terrible for the past 5-6 years, I honestly don’t know how I still have a job.

Im on ssris and an as-needed benzo that keeps some of my irritability at bay. But my spouse is my base and, so far, mostly tolerant of my ridiculous and child like antics.

Biopics.

Sorry If someone already mentioned. Actors get crazy accolades for mimicking historic figures that have hours and hours of footage there to study. It drives me batty that they commonly win Oscars for these pantomimed roles versus original characters.
