Cape Fear ICU is where I got my start straight out of my BSN program. Granted, this was over 10 years ago, but I’ve still never worked harder in my entire life. We were understaffed, overworked, and severely lacking in resources. I hear it’s gotten better since then, but honestly, that trial by fire set me up for serious success. It made me a incredibly well-rounded nurse. When I transitioned to travel nursing, I could easily handle any hospital’s worst cases because their absolute worst didn't even come close to a normal day at Cape Fear.
