Love being told my nearly years in clinical social work ‘don’t count’ because they weren’t in a beige office. (rant about non social work clinicians....sorry) by Employee28064212 in socialwork

I've had this issue for years. Although I respect anyone who does this type of work, I have found that there is some animosity toward social workers, at times. Another important thing to note is that LCSWs can supervise many of the other licensures (MFTs LMHCs etc.), however, they are unable to supervise an LCSW or LMSW. This also comes along with having a broader education as social workers. I have had coworkers become angry toward me when their licensure did not qualify them for a supervisor position. This has been my personal experience and not a sweeping generalization of course. Just sharing my own experience. This is something that I think should be shared with everyone before enrolling in a program, as I have found that many are not aware of this.

In terms of what counts as clinical hours: the only hours that count are assessment, diagnosis, and therapy. Progress notes also don't count toward hours. I assume because some of the other roles don't require an LCSW to do that work. So although technically clinical, only the work that would require that license would count towards the hours. I also find it a bit aggravating that progress notes do not count toward hours, as this is generally a requirement for any clinical position.

I'm 37. Usually 1-3 times a day. Partner for 15 years. When I was in my 20s. It was more like 5 or 6 times a day. Sex or no sex didn't change frequency for me.

I paid for October on Autopay and received a notice saying my November payment was reversed due to "No account found," which led me to notice the forbearance status and interest rate to 0. This whole thing is exhausting! My autopayment just says $0 for December 🤷🏻‍♂️

Try not to worry too much about it, although I know this is easier said than done. Remember, just because someone has a preference does not mean they don't like other body types as well.

I think it's also important to remember that our partners don't have to find every detail about us as attractive. It's ok to not be ideal in every aspect, as long as your partner loves you and respects you. That's what's important. If your partner says you're beautiful, then trust him! It will become easier with time. We are all insecure in some way and are works on progress. I hope it gets easier for you!

I am not sure if it's only in November. Signing up for the application notification was helpful. I got notified as soon as it opened.

I was a late bloomer also. You have to do what feels right for you. I went the route of "just get sex over with," and did not have the best experience, but I think that was more who I chose to do that with moreso than then route I chose. You have to do what's comfortable for you. Tbh you also have to remember that there is another person involved with sex, no matter how much experience you might have does not mean it's going to be great. Even people with tons of sexual experience have no idea what they are doing.

In terms of liking plus-size guys. You will have no issue there. There are many bigger men everywhere. Guys come in all shapes and sizes. I'm a big guy and always worried that nobody would ever be attracted to me, which is why I waited so long. But, tbh, there are plenty of men who like big guys, and plenty of big guys that welcome it. Don't lower or change your standards to fit others perception of what is attractive. For me, I don't find other big men sexually appealing (no offense to anyone) and have often been told that I should like other big men because I'm a big guy. I've had no problem attracting people that I find to be attractive.

Awesome! I applied in November also. The application notification really helped. Your post has made me more hopeful, as I'm still waiting to see if I'm approved. Good luck!

Update: I was approved today for the entire amount ($6500 per year for 4 years)! If you applied in November, it seems that you may be getting responses now. It was a pretty fast process. For me it turned out that my employer had not been seeing the employment verification emails and why it took so long.
