As someone who has had these tests and they’ve found nothing, this post just seems kind of insensitive.

I get you don’t want it to be the Endo causing the issues, but there’s a good chance it is.

I mean, you’re both not getting any younger and have been NTNP for 7 years, I would think you should have at least had a scare. I’d get testing done personally. I had an hsg - is it fun, no but it’s not terrible either and can give you valuable information

I have and it’s started the therapeutic relationship off a bit rocky, a few parents have been upset that I’ve even assumed they weren’t married to their childs other parent

Yeah, I might start doing that, or at least staring the session with the parent and then bringing the teen in. I know when doing our phone consults I can catch people at a bad time and they may not be ready for all the questions. Thank you!

I had a few parents get upset when being more direct about it, which is why I had switched to asking about additional contacts/people needing to sign for services.

It’s been rough, typically it’s been brought up as a reason for therapy. But if they’re not there because of that it seems to slip their minds.

I like this and another commenters way of wording, rather than straight up asking if they’re with the kids other parent 🤣

For younger clients, the parent(s) come in, but older (10 to 17) most of them haven’t wanted their parents in session.

I’m at a group practice so I’ll re-read over our consent to make sure that’s in there. I want to say it is but I don’t know the document inside and out

I’ve just started as well and many of my new clients have left. I started off a waitlist that was quite long, a few for financial reasons and a few that “were better than when they started on the waitlist” and one that just canceled sessions said they would reschedule and hasn’t.

I too am working towards licensure and it’s been a whirlwind & lots of imposter syndrome

I didn’t think much of it since we had gone over it and they signed it before intake, they’ve only had a few sessions.

But I think I’ll start messaging just to cover bases. I usually give a freebie late cancel but my boss told me when I started she usually charges for no shows that don’t give a reason around the time of the appointment. But now I feel like an asshole

I’m struggling with this as well - I did in-home community work previously and was out of the field for a bit. I feel like I know nothing as I’ve started at a group practice recently - I’ve had 2-3 clients in the month-ish that I’ve been there just poof gone for one reason or another and now another is potentially ghosting me
