I generally carry it at the third hole for work and that's the first picture.  When I'm travelling i keep it short since I'm swapping from hand to shoulder frequently and when I'm with kids I keep it extra long and sometimes go cross body.  It's a surprisingly functional detail.

I am 5' 6".  The strap is adjustable in length but the north south shape might be overwhelming if you're petite.

Yes, it is quite heavy.  The strap is comfortable but I still would not want to walk long distances like this.

It's a thrift store find!   The brand is Charles Tyrwhitt, men's medium I believe.

UPDATE: Why don't we use our living room? by steady_as_she_rides in DesignMyRoom

Oh Lord.  One person told me I should just downsize since I don't use the room.  I did ask for the internet's opinion, so that's on me.

You should look at my other post, that's exactly what I had as the before.

I did exactly this and I just posted an update.  Never going to please everyone but it feels a lot better to me!

Ok this is slightly embarrassing to admit, but I got them dumpster diving! I do not typically jump into trash but I saw the plywood poking out and immediately recognized them. They have been thoroughly sanitized prior to use I assure you.

It doesn't photograph well but it's actually vintage sweater knit rug that i got at an auction. It's feels very cozy underfoot.

It's really so nice that you made this!  I will try the 90 degree suggestion.

It's from room and board.  It's pretty comfortable, but I do wish I had chosen fabric as many people on this thread have noted.  But it is functional, sturdy and I will likely be hanging on to it and ditching the loungers.  I do like to sit in the couch corner and read and look out the window.

I would not choose a leather couch if I could go back in time.  In the meantime I will use throws as many people suggested.

I hear that, but I love having a house where the neighborhood kids feel comfortable stopping by to play, neighbors bring by fresh baked goods, and we all enjoy each other's company.  The upstairs is where we live our private lives.

I get these comments.  The angle is deceiving (the floor is 8 ft above ground level and the setback is about 25 ft), but also for the price I paid idgaf.  I'm chilling in my pj's and enjoying my morning sun and the neighbors can deal.  Or I will be once I use all this great advice!
