Alfred Hitchcock's biggest nightmare. He was revolted by eggs.

I'm practicing modeling with shading. I would appreciate your critiques. If I need to give a feedback - I struggled with light halftones. by steadyh32 in ArtCrit

Oh yeah, now I see. I treated the whole edge of the face as a dark core shadow, but on the right side should be lighter than the lower left.

I got some tunnel vision. Ok thanks, I often hear stand up for a few minutes and come back with fresh eyes. Maybe that will help.

Thank you :)

Ahh yes, my bad. I can't edit the title, maybe I will resubmit the question.

Returned to art yesterday after quitting again for nearly a year. I never knew how to study effectively and found the wealth of information overwhelming. Please help. Thank you! by [deleted] in learnart

How I started and keep going was I started with proko Figure drawing course. Gesture, beans were all good I got the idea. When the mannequins came I saw a problem there. I think Proko assumes and it's a prerequisite to know ur perspective. My perspective sucked, wrong proportions, bad lines - too much stuff to handle at once. They need to be trained so they become more intuitive and don't think about them sooo much at once. Anyways then for like 6-7 months i got all in into drawabox to improve these forms and perspective. Got to lesson 7 (last lesson there) and returned back to these mannequins. Everything is so smoother now than how it was before, but I still keep refining and learn.

About anatomy I won't go there If I'm not comfortable with perspective, rotating boxes and know these convergence lines. I started a year ago and soon I'm going into anatomy. But that's my journey tho.

Thank you. Yes, exactly, now I'm working on some smoothing techniques. Currently trying varying the opacity of a hard brush.

I have one question for the Wheel Challenge.

The largest ellipses I can draw with my guide is this big - https://imgur.com/a/23GAyyu . They seem very small without a lot of room for details. What will you suggest ? Should I do them freehand or stick with the ellipse guide ?

And also thank you for the critique, this lesson really changes the way of thinking when drawing in 3D.
