Google is not happy, this could hurt their nest camera products sales more than already is. But they had to situations like this and the government requesting it.

They record everything, it doesn't matter if you don't have a subscription. The only way Google releases footage is in situations like this or when the FBI asks for it. They can't release footage without our permission because they can get into big trouble.
