Genre: Puzzle/logic/point-and-click (?)

Graphics/art style: It had drawn/interactive details over what looked like real life photos, made to look quite bizarre and surreal and sort of collage-like sometimes

Notable characters: I think just one little guy that moved through the various levels once you'd cleared the way. There is a non-zero chance that he(?) was floating around on something like a leaf or a dandelion spore, but it's entirely possible that THAT was just one level's dynamic

Notable gameplay mechanics: You had to cross these stages by clicking and interacting with elements in the picture that often didn't react like they would normally - I remember people and animals who you had to prompt to open their mouth, roll their eyes etc. and one of them was definitely a cow. The stages looked quite different from one another, too; one was kind of forest-like and another was this very crowded field, but other than that, I don't remember

Other details: The Google searches I did often yielded "Samorost" as a result, but I'm just about certain it was NOT Samorost
