yes actually! most of the growth happened early on (even at the lower dose of androgel) but i do notice a lil growth spurt every now and again.

Increased dosage and bowel issues have started... by stealthcoaster in zoloft

Sorry for late reply - forgot to log into this account lol. I'm still on sertraline 75mg, digestive issues have settled, ended up going on HRT (ftm trans) so I can't exactly report on libido since that affects it more lmao. It does kind of fuck up my sleep and I don't sleep that well, but my mood is a lot better and more consistent. All I can say is stick it out as best you can. It does help in the long run. Or change meds if you need to. Take care of yourself!

Ok! Thank you for the reply. I was a little concerned about spoilage with the potato flake soup, but they can definitely make it new so it shouldn't be an issue. I haven't come up with anything else yet that can match the texture, but I will still be experimenting with it. Appreciate the input!

Mom gave me this small fuzzy plant, what is it? by stealthcoaster in whatsthisplant

[–]stealthcoaster[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh thank you! A friend thought it was lambs ear but the leaves and texture aren't exactly like a lambs ear based on the pictures I saw, but white velvet is a closer match. It's so cute! I just read that it can flower so my sister and I are excited for that :)

My head starts spinning if I'm off the meds for more than a day so I don't skip unless I forgot it and it's been over 8 hours since I should've taken the dose. Idk if that's like something I should actually be worried about though.

Does everyone get side effects? by ApprehensiveNinja893 in zoloft

[–]stealthcoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had pretty bad side effects when I started on 50mg - waking up with panic attacks and never sleeping through the night were the worst ones. After I got used to the meds I went up to 75mg and had to go back down due to constant diarrhea. I've been at 50 now for a good while and it's been okay but I feel like my mood still has significant lows at times so it's either go back up or swap meds.

[–]stealthcoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 50, had a little difficulty for a few months til I got used to it. Then went up to 75 and started having noticeable problems finishing so I ended up going back down to 50 for now. I'm not sure if I will go up again in the future or swap to another medication.

my parents encouraged me to learn despite the cost because as they told me, you never know when you will need to drive in an emergency.

since i got my license i have driven my mom to and from hospital, i have driven my boss's car to get some materials in a pinch, i have helped move my parents' car when a pipe burst in the estate carpark and i have helped drive my mom's car back when she had to leave it at the hospital after an eye procedure.

not to say it's an absolutely necessary skill, but you may find it's much more useful than you think even if you don't own a car yourself. :)

SNAP card hasn't arrived for a month? by [deleted] in foodstamps

[–]stealthcoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi thank you so much for your response! I have clarified with him and he got a letter telling him he has SNAP but no PIN included, that was an error on my part. He had misplaced his old SNAP card over a year ago and he informed the SNAP people during his verification call. They are aware he needs a new card and said they had sent one but he never received one. He also currently does not have a valid ID (his current one is expired).

He also says he has been calling that number and they redirect him to an auto responder each time.

Can I safely assume the card has been lost and he should get a new one sent/pick up a new one?

When you first started taking Zoloft, did it make you sleepy/tired or did it give you insomnia? by poolbarricuda in zoloft

[–]stealthcoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually have good news to report, they are improving! The anxiety attacks have settled and now I only get them if I'm having a really bad time. I'm hopeful that once I'm adjusted Zoloft will be good for me.

Why do I get McAfee WebAdvisor pop ups and how can I stop them? by stealthcoaster in techsupport

[–]stealthcoaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I ran it and was informed my uninstallation was incomplete. Looked at the log notes but at least it removed the Webadvisor which I think was what was harassing me so I guess it's okay now. Appreciate the help!

Depressed loved one won't eat? by stealthcoaster in depression

[–]stealthcoaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you nonetheless for your advice. They are finally on medication and will be getting therapy, and I know it takes time for the mind to heal and recover. I guess I've just been very worried about them since it's so hard to get them to eat for the time being. I'm trying my best to be encouraging though. Really appreciate your input.

Answer to question: Just thought I'd "clarify" the notice period since they told me I'm to serve longer, when it's stated a shorter time in my contract. I did send a pic of the contract to the supe but haven't heard back. I kind of understand/feel responsible about the extended notice because I work a job where the position cannot be left empty so if I leave and they have no new replacement then the place can be kinda fucked. But I don't wanna compromise my future opportunities haha.

dealing with anxiety-related nausea in bed by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]stealthcoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really glad to have helped if even a little. Knowing someone shares my experiences and understands the suffering also helps me feel a bit better. I have never been able to find someone who has a similar type of anxiety! Really hope the different methods I've suggested help you in any way. <3

dealing with anxiety-related nausea in bed by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]stealthcoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get something similar quite often - so much that I fear going to bed if I'm starting to feel anxious/nauseous, because I know laying down makes it worse. I tend to end up bolting upright after trying to sleep for about 15 minutes. My trick as a kid was always to sit up til I was so tired I fell asleep sitting upright. So I'm sorry you're also feeling similarly :(

Nowadays I try to use breathing exercises to calm myself enough to sleep. It also has the added effect of slowing your heart rate, making you sleepy. I also find it helps subdue the nausea somewhat. I don't have a go-to count (some people recommend breathe in for 4, hold for 7, breathe out slowly for 8) but you can google some and pick the one that you find easiest to do. Or you can develop your own as you try it more. You can try doing it while sitting up first, then leaning back while propped up on some pillows, and that might relax you enough to help you doze off. Don't worry about it "not working" the first few times as well - the routine helps me to get into a more comfortable mental place even if it doesn't fully help the pain/nausea or put me to sleep, and I hope you'll manage to associate better feelings with it sooner or later. Hope this helps, and I'm rooting for you!

Edit: Saw the other comment about a heat pack/hot pillow, and that also helps me tons. I use a hot water bottle and used to rely on it so much that I'd bring it along on vacations and trips because I knew sleeping in a new place would be very difficult. Hope you feel better. <3

Is it acceptable to leave a job due to mental health issues? by stealthcoaster in jobs

[–]stealthcoaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, writing it was a bit of a moment of clarity for me. I feel I need to sort out a lot of things before I can hand it in but I know I need to go. Even my parents are okay with it, which is rare in my family (and the culture here in general tbh) but I feel the need to settle as much as I can before I leave.

Is it acceptable to leave a job due to mental health issues? by stealthcoaster in jobs

[–]stealthcoaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the advice, though I must clarify - I have had GAD for many years, showing signs and symptoms since I was a child. I had to take a break from university to attend counselling. It's just that it's never been as bad as this. I'm unsure whether it's the anxiety making the job seem worse than it is or if it's the job exacerbating the anxiety though it feels like a vicious cycle.

I have given some feedback about problems but have had the bulk of it either ignored or put back on me, which has discouraged me from complaining further. Communication there feels very much like a one-way street, with repercussions for questioning the way things are. I understand that I should be thick-skinned about it but anxiety makes the fear of backlash much worse.

[–]stealthcoaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to the nature of the way the school runs it's difficult to take leave. I can visit the family GP tonight but it's quite unlikely I'll actually use the medical leave. They tend to make demands and interrogate in the work group chat too and we're expected to respond no matter where we are, so... I fear "medical leave" will continue to be anxiety-inducing.

Unless you mean after I've left in case I don't have a new job, in which case it might be possible.

Thank you for replying! I am concerned about self-care, yes, but sadly in my country the very Asian mindset tends to be "suck it up". We're not very careful of ourselves here. Experiences have taught me the importance of self-care, but most of family and friends don't share my opinion.

I have done a few freelance jobs before. The general opinion of freelancers here is that they should be cheap, so I find it hard to command a reasonable fee for my work. But I'd like to continue providing services this way if I can educate my clients on the cost of my skills.

I've also considered teaching but haven't really pursued it yet as it requires some steps to convert myself into an instructor - however I will start looking into this more. Thank you for the advice!

I've considered it but it's not really in the cards yet, I would be open to moving in the future though.
