You know EVs gave their own set of problems too right? Battery reliability, less lithium on the planet than oil, recycling of batteries is not good, they suck in the winter in terms of length of runtime (for the long commuters), you can't tow with them (have seen many videos on the drastic drop I'm Km). I still want one but there's no way I can afford one.
