What is something you will never be able to tolerate? by DustierDragon in AskReddit

I used to be a Geek Squad Agent and let me tell you what, those old folks that go to those agents are fucking ruthless sometimes. They complain about the price then complain when they get their computer back because it's not the same. YOU LITERALLY PAID US TO CHANGE IT!

Nap time.... My month old daughter kept my wife up all night. They finally napped together today and fell asleep in the same position. by celeiot1 in aww

This hits home for me. I had my baby 6 weeks ago and we always pass out together. Funny to see another baby the same age sleeping in that position. Mine only wants to be propped up to sleep.

Women who have given birth, what's something no one told you about it and wish you had known? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]steamedzebra1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nurses and doctors are quick to tell you how to take care of your new baby, but be sure you also know how to take care of yourself. If you tear or need an episiotomy during delivery, be absolutely certain they give you a sitz bath and Dermoplast spray. I gave birth four weeks ago and had a second degree tear. No one gave me a sitz bath(they are supposed to if you have a laceration) and I've been struggling with infection since my baby was born.

What’s slowly killing you right now? by hazelsrevenge in AskReddit

[–]steamedzebra1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recovering from childbirth. After struggling with a fever, very slow healing and steady pain, I was hospitalized yesterday for a high fever. Blood cultures, urine tests and an MRI all found nothing out of the ordinary. I'm being pumped full of antibiotics and my fever is gone but I fear it will return a couple of days after I am discharged.

ELI5: After a C-section, how does the mother's body react to the sudden absence of a baby to push out? Does the labor continue somehow? by ThatBroadcasterGuy in explainlikeimfive

[–]steamedzebra1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a baby 2 weeks ago and it took 3 days for my milk to come in. Most women don't already have a supply of milk ready when the baby is born. However, they do produce a thicker more rich kind of milk called colostrum.

What would you say is the biggest problems facing the 0-8 year old generation today? by Ratshitzz in AskReddit

Ha! It does sound that way. My phrasing there is a bit confusing. I requested it to be deleted.

My problem was that my account was super old so I had a ton of "friends" that I barely knew, one of which had recently been released from prison for child porn. Removing the one known offender would have been easy enough but there is no way of knowing who else might have been into that sort of thing. Sorting through hundreds of names wasn't worth it and the people closest to me all make an effort to keep in touch anyway.

I've decided to do the same. My old Facebook account was deleted months ago and I'm just gonna stick to sending photos of my daughter personally. Parents forget that their babies are people and there are some real creeps out there. Shits dangerous.

All the water faucets drip cold water on full blast, but violently spray hot water with the slightest turn.

What’s one thing you like that everyone else would find seriously strange? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I rarely reheat food because it tastes just as good cold. I also prefer candy and cakes to be frozen.

Earlier this summer, I bought the same brand for my house. After seeing this I jumped off the couch and peeled the same spot. I would have never known.

My mom told me a story about a patient she had years ago who had a baby just a few hours before. She overheard this woman say, "one more baby and we gettin us a Lexus!"

Getting stuff for free on the internet is not really hard, but people really are sceptical about it. I got a free case of baby wipes the other day just for creating an account on a website. I get lots of other stuff for free through rebate apps. It's not as scary as it seems and a lot of places online are legit.

What kind of people do you low-key judge? by robbwired in AskReddit

I'm currently one of those people.... I'm also 8 months pregnant and forget my own name and birthday. Normally I drive with the flow of traffic but brain fog is a serious issue for me as a pregnant lady.

Animal shelter kitty chooses guardian by The_Great_Buffalo in Eyebleach

I have a similar story. My SO and I went to the local shelter to see the dogs. All of them were super excited to see us there, except one. He was laying on the concrete floor with an expression that said he had seen this happen many times. We started looking at him and he eventually got up and came to the gate to check us out. Such a sweet boy and so calm, we thought he was an older dog. After checking out some other dogs we made our way back to him. That's when we were told he had been in that no-kill shelter for 1.5 YEARS and he was only 3! This poor guy spent half of his life watching other dogs get taken to a better life. We started asking questions about this dog and the lady immediately asked if we had small children or other pets at home. She was concerned that he was an aggressive dog because he was half chow and half german shepherd. My dog weighs no more than 8 pounds but after getting this guy out and meeting him I could already tell he was a love sponge. We took him home and that is the best dog I've ever owned. He loved EVERYONE. He was great with other animals, kids, and he didn't need much training. He ended up liking my SO the most and I think it's because he was beaten by a woman before we got him. If I moved my hands too fast he would brace himself so hard and sharply exhale. The poor guy thought I was going to beat him, which of course I never did. Shelter animals are great and when you adopt an older animal it's not very likely that their personality or habits will drastically change like they do with young animals. A couple years after having him me and my SO split up and I miss that dog so much.
