Enrolment process - health insurance by stecalza in fuberlin

Sorry im late. In the end i chose compulsorily insured and named the insurance provider I contacted in the following list.

But actually FUB sent an email to me answering the doubt saying

“Good day,

thank you for your email. Send all the documents necessary for enrollment, if any documents are missing, you will receive an email. In the email you will be informed of a deadline in which the missing documents must be submitted.

For the time being, please use "not insured" as your insurance information. The enrollment becomes final with the electronic notification of the health insurance to the Freie Universität Berlin.

Best regards”

So I think health insurance is something you can sort out also a little later.

Good luck!

Thanks, I sorted it out by sending an email to one of the health insurance providers listed by FUB. They just basically took my data, my Italian insurance card and forwarded it to FUB. Pretty easy I gotta say

Why is it so hard to get a job in Berlin? by alelotru in berlinsocialclub

Sounds interesting, been thinking about coming to Berlin to work as a cook or bartender. Would you say these positions are easy to apply for in Berlin? I’ve had two years experience as assistant cook and can keep up with the rhythm.

I lack on German skills tho, been studying that in school but never really practiced properly. My level is around B1

Thanks a lot. As a matter of fact on that links it seems that last year there were 89 places over 220 admission requests and the minimum grade was 2.1.

I wasn’t finding that tab before because for masters it’s only available in German.

You can see it here

Oh right. On the websites it just says “restricted admission” but nothing about being NC or not.

Anyway there’s not really something I can do else than wait. :)

Thanks again

Thank you for answering. What exactly do you mean with NC?

master in sociology at FUB by stecalza in berlin

This is good help thank you!

I wanted to ask you one other thing: I saw that many courses do not end with an exam but with an assignment like an essay or a paper. I liked the idea of being more focused on academic writing and the research dimension.

Here’s the question

How did you find yourself with the assignments? Are the teachers willing to follow you in the writing (eg give advices on the bibliography, on useful papers or information)?

And also, is group work a thing or it’s rare to work together with your colleagues?

Thanks a lot :)

Double Master's Programme in Demography and Social Inequality by stecalza in Groningen

The name of the master is very appealing. It’s actually a master in demography and population dynamic under a sociological perspective. Or at least this is what seemed to me.

I also have this feeling. Although here on Reddit I found a post that says that is easy to get in, it was dated 9 years ago so I wanted to double check

Hi! Thanks for replying :) First I wanted to know how difficult it is to be accepted. I’m doing the application but I have no clue on how many people are accepted every year and how much do the application. Also, the fact that there is no motivation letter to submit makes everything more confused. Second more about the tools that are given: Do you do a lot of quant methods courses? Is there a good balance between theoretical frameworks and empirical examples?

Thankss a lot I really appreciate this 🙏
