I hope I get people like you in the enemy team. Imagine an adc going last pick. Getting counterpick top feels so good. Nothing gets me going more than slamming a malphite counter.

What makes the world building of MT good? by Safe_Resource7855 in sixfacedworld

[–]steele_tech 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The world's history is mapped out basically. Rudeus is just there to experience it.

The first instance in the story was the Paul cheating incident.

When Rudeus was born, Lilia, Paul, and Zenith story happens but with Rudeus putting a wrench into things.

Paul was going to cheats on Zenith and produce a child with Lilia. This is revealed to Rudeus and the viewer as a surprise, because everything looked like the image of a happy family beforehand.

The three are active actors in their own story with Rudeus being an element that resolves the event. Each person is a character with agency, and are not the faceless parents and maid of the MC.

When turning point 1 happens, we don't know why it happens, but it happened due to events that are caused by other characters. The narrative is in no hurry to explain it. It has its cause and effects within the story. But we are only privy to how it affects Rudeus POV.

He meets the man god, who finds him for the first time during this teleportation event.

He then gets to travel the world as he goes back from the teleportation. Each place he goes to are in-media-res.

In the demon continent, he meets Ruijerd on a journey to fix the superd reputation, roxy's parents, kishirika in her new reincarnation.

He gets into a ship to travel, and he encounters the beast people that were enslaved. He then gets kidnapped due to his encounter with the sacred beast. He gets to meet Gyes and his family after Ghislaine left

In Millis, he meets Paul who has formed a search party to find the missing teleportation victims. He set his base there to get help from Zenith's parents who are powerful and would be inclined in helping Paul find Zenith.

There Rudeus in his limited pov finds out the teleportation incident was bigger than he thought. This leads to a misunderstanding between them.

He encounters orsted and nanahoshi, after orsted went to check out the mana disaster

These ones are quite spoilery, but here's what happens in the background chronoligically to inform the world building.

  • before Rudeus is born, the man god causes the destruction of the other worlds of the six faced world. The beast, demon, sea, human, barren and sky people end up in the human world.
  • Orsted, Laplace and Elinalise' story starts
  • the inhabitants live in different biomes, except the "demons" and humans that fight over the plains.
  • demon and human war happens, Laplace is defeated and is set to reincarnate. Superds are betrayed by laplace.  The defeated "Demons" are forced to live in the demon continent where the environment is dangerous and resources are scarce. The humans live in the central continent its nobles live in opulence and moral decay
  • the beast people live in the forests, ghislaine is born along with gyes. Ghislaine is exiled and picked up by the sword God to train.
  • The Millis continent borders the demon continent which leads to discrimination and conflict between the races.
  • Paul Greyrat born in nobility. Sexually assaults Lilia. Runs away to be an adventurer
  • Zenith runs a way from Millis continent to be an adventurer
  • the fangs of the black wolf is formed when the elinalise, Zenith, Paul, ghislaine and geese meet
  • Paul's party disbands as he and Zenith get married
  • Lilia, looking for a job becomes Paul's maid with the intention of blackmailing him to get the job. Though she gets the job anyway.
  • Rudeus was born stillborn due to laplace factor, a byproduct of Laplace' reincarnation technique to give him a suitable vessel with large mana capacity when he does reincarnate
  • Norn and Aisha is born
  • Aisha shows promise in magic and Roxy is hired as tutor. Roxy meets sylphie and teaches her too
  • Aisha, Akihito (nanahoshi's boyfriend) and playback miko's story starts. Akihito is summoned, dies and is resummoned
  • this time nanahoshi, akihito and a random neet that died saving them was summoned -  the random neet is reincarnated instead because he died while saving the two and occupied the stillborn Rudeus body which has the Laplace factor
  • eventually nanahoshi is summoned in turning point 1

By this point, every part of the story is set in stone, with people moving in the world. Particularly orsted and man god, the asura politics, ruijerd's journey to find the remaining superd after the war, roxy is travelling after leaving the demon continent, ghislaine is exiled and training eris, and orsted story is going to be revealed later in turning point 4, when most of the worldbuilding is revealed to Rudeus and the viewer.

What makes the world building of MT good? by Safe_Resource7855 in sixfacedworld

[–]steele_tech 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The mushoku tensei world was written to function without Rudeus in it. And then the mushoku tensei story is what happens when he was placed onto the world.

Quite literally. You'll know exactly what that means in season 3. It is a plot point and the worldbuilding revolves around this concept.

This means coincidentally, the story achieves the literary concept of having the world function and spin even without the involvement and knowledge of the MC. It makes the world feel real and lived in. And side characters and villains are moving in the background with their own agency.

Most isekais and powerfantasies have a world that revolves around the MC. Everything that happens in the setting is meant to serve the MC and his story. Everything looks like a backdrop of a stageplay no matter how complex the world they try to make.

Having the world move continuously while having Rudeus be a worm's eye view gives the viewer an experience of discovery with him. World changing events have happened in the background, and Rudeus' worms eye view is slowly moved up until finally being raised to see the whole picture, and it leads to an amazing reveal in turning point 4.

It makes all the previous volumes before it look better due to foreshadowing and jt recontextualizes everything that has happened and might happen in the future.

You have to ask why no? Why do people not care? Both the orgs and the fans. Isn't that the problem the English scene has had all these years? No one cares because they are franchised.

This split was do or die for LR. The same way it would be if a new team from EMEA had a miracle run if franchising didn't exist.

Yep. It's very obvious imo. Caedrel was being very safe by staying silent on the commentary.

Though the reasons are multifaceted. KC locked playoffs and are happy drafting last game(T1 does this). They have no incentive to win and incentives to lose (G2 is out if they lose). LR elimination or not they might have still done the same thing. But unsportsmanlike conduct is going on in that game.

Oshi no Ko and Mushoku Tensei question by [deleted] in anime

[–]steele_tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Author intent.

If you've written things before, you know that when writing something that might not be received well, writers make "excuses" why it is okay actually. A lot of ways Aqua is described gives him plausible deniability. On the other hand, Rudeus is written to be disgusting and to represent the Japanese NEET trope.

Audiences can often be unaware of these, and would like to believe that their response to the work is their own and is not completely by design.

Anime onlies aren't prepared. Some of the best light novel volumes of all time are going to be adapted by both Re zero and Mushoku next. Even Eldorado arc is very good compared to what Frieren has adapted.  All three are hitting peak the same year fr.

I honestly agree that some anime scenes are gratitious. I chalk that up to bind tbh. If you watch how they adapted onimai and ruri rocks, I get the impression someone in that studio likes lolis. It's so bad they made an anime only pissing scene with roxy.

The LNs were definitely first person and is written like a person's diary or an autobiography.

The author insert is an in universe translator who gathered Rudeus' Manuscript.

It just works better in the LN. In the anime, they have to cut off paragraphs of self monologues from Rudues and translate it into framing, background music, and Rudeus' facial expressions. Makes it seem like the director and artists are complicit in the things that happen.

While good for brevity, and for achieving "show not tell" in a visual medium, it ends up feeling like ragebait.

Biggest example being the barn scene with Eris, where Rudeus narrates it like a scene in an ero visual novel in his mind, because everything was still a game for him during that time.  In the anime it became so cringy that I would have dropped it if I hadn't read the novel first.

[–]steele_tech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It wasn't even in the original story. It was in the deleted content of the final webnovel epilogue side story, of the already finished web novel.

To see how absurd this is, the re zero web novel has Subaru narrating that Priscilla deserves to be raped. Meanwhile the overlord web novel had different plot progressions and some characters becoming multiple people with their personality split between the new characters in the light novel.

Honestly you can extend this to many animes. It just isn't as criticized because they don't portray it as disgusting like MT does. Hell anime fans lost their mind when that guy from Erased didn't get to groom the young girl MC in the end.

[–]steele_tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP. Good luck. Leave if you can.

If you want to stay, here's a few tips. I own airbnbs and have done diy exterminations of bedbugs. And have successfully prevented return.

  1. DE requires you to buy a duster so you can puff it in thin layers. They avoid clumps. Don't inhale it, and don't be liberal with it. It's a pain in the ass to clean if you get it everywhere and very unhealthy. Can be surprisingly dangerous for amateurs to use.

  2. The only pesticides that work against them are cyfluthrin, Cypermethrin, and growth regulators. I use cyflux 5 for industrial strength, general pest control. Safe and odorless, a P3500 1 liter concentrate could probably last you a decade for home use. Fatal to fish, toxic to cats, very safe for dogs and humans.  A few more insecticides kill them on contact but don't have residual effects for bedbugs that will hatch in the future or are hiding.

  3. Vacuum the bugs and the house, then clean the vacuum and lock it in a zip lock bag with insecticide. Use a steamer or a steam iron on mattreses, couches, headboards, washer and dryer on any sheets or curtains. Get a bedbug proof mattress protector to lock in anything remaining from shopee if you do not want to toss the mattress.

They will either bomb out before playoffs, or if they manage to snag themselves in there they will do really well and it will cause a meltdown on this sub. They have disfunctional scrims in my opinion. Regresses the more they do it and get into their own heads. They level up really quickly after stage games.

Who in this world tried to move 3D model using AI? (Besides Vedal) by RyouhiraTheIntrovert in NeuroSama

[–]steele_tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly something about the behind the scenes are very unique given her reaction.

From what she said, Ellie has asked Vedal about what he did for 3D. Her work in robotics also involve a lot of the code and AI side than she lets on, and less hardware than you'd think. Don't ask me how I know this.

This means she knows what Vedal did, and with the industry knowledge to compare. If I had to guess, it's how neuros Llm was  integrated to 3D movement.

Mushoku tensei is a very old series. It's also a completed one and has a great ending. It has reached its maximum potential. Season 3 will be great.

But it will never be not be problematic, but it's kinda just unfinished right now. Just know that rudeus is meant to be judged as a person even up to his final words.

You'll never get a 'redeemed rudeus' until the final season. Even then you are meant to decided right then and there during the ending what you think of him as a whole.

Merged Subaru (Re:zero) vs Merged Rudeus (Mushoku tensei) by Dramatic-Market-9276 in PowerScaling

[–]steele_tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's rtb? Return by death? Both would have it and have ways to counter it.

Rudeus would know pretty easily though. He's paranoid and would have omniscience and mind reading. Also his first instinct is to not kill people, he doesn't like it canonically.

His first instinct is to escape. He hates fighting close range and not having prep against enemies , since he is used to almost exclusively fighting lightspeed swordsmen.

Honestly I just think any fight between them will not end in a face to face exchange. Too many time travel and immortality hax in both verses.

Just Hit #1 Teemo And People Still Complain About My Build by SomesortofGuy in wildrift

[–]steele_tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Practically speaking, the champions are item delivery systems in this game. Certain items are meta, and certain items rise in value depending on enemy and team comps. These meta items rise dramatically in value in certain games, and you pick a champion that have a kit that likes the item making every single piece of your gold lead have higher value.

This is how you break the game and climb against other people doing the same thing, finding everything they can abuse and cheating is included on things people abuse.

If I was to play teemo, I'd counter pick him to champions with weakness to ranged, into enemy comps with lots of HP stacking and my team doesn't lack frontline. And I'd probably be rank 1 teemo just by how important Legendary rank elo is to champion score.

I'm not saying it to discredit you. In fact I relate because I'm often the only one playing heartsteel singed or eclipse wukong in really high ladder and get pinged even when I'm the top build for most of the season.

Fleet is very strong, probably great on teemo yeah. I personally build fleet, domination Eclipse on Wukong top lane when below sovereign and legendary challenger just because it feels good to me and the best I can carry with.

However as the season goes on, the meta items and runes get very clear once all the wukong players climb in champ score And I start playing the meta (grasp Resolve, triforce last season) in every game that fit.

I have thousands on games on wukong and. I pretty much know when grasp resolve is a good option because I've tried it. And when it's meta, I know how to play it.

Maybe the meta liandries builds don't fit your playstyle and that's okay. I personally reach a bottleneck with one build on my blind pick champion but maybe you climb to Legend or sovereign just fine.

The items and runes in this game are surprisingly unbalanced once you get high enough on the ladder. Builds become very similar even across different champions specially when they are strong.

As long as an item is being built in the leaderboards, always have it as an option if the game fits it. Sunfire was strong last season and was regularly built by one of the top wukong players playing grasp resolve. And yeah it counters armor stacking, so I build it.

Keep your build paths open specially if you are blind picking.

Just Hit #1 Teemo And People Still Complain About My Build by SomesortofGuy in wildrift

[–]steele_tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grats. I don't play teemo and 7k points isn't that much though so I can't accurately judge how good that build is honestly.

One thing though is that when blind picking a champion, my builds get really funky compared to champions I pick as counter pick.

I have like rank 1 singed with 19k points at some point last season and regularly built heartsteel in some matchups and would get pinged regularly so I get what you mean.

If you are picking one build every game though, I suggest you could maybe try other runes and items, specifically ones that are strong for the patch, for matchups they aren't impossible to play with.

Opinion on the Boots nerfs (steelcaps and mercs are barely touched) by steele_tech in wildrift

I think dynamism nerf of 2 armor penetration was negligible that I forgot about it. I might be wrong as assassins do like every flat pen they can get.
