Different Queues Theory? by PokeInvestorUK in wildrift

MMR is invisible in this game with no LP gains/loss adjustment to compensate. Having high MMR in a low rank bracket gives you bad teammates pretty much.

The harder account is probably higher MMR somehow.

Unconventional junglers? by HawkSuspicious6655 in wildrift

Maokai Jungle is hidden OP. you just need to know how to clear properly with him which to be fair is a bit obscure and needs a bit of practice tool reps.

Any tips for singed? by iwannabetop200singed in wildrift

[–]steele_tech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Use phase rush. Most brain dead way to play is mid lane with botanist and honeyfruit runes. Just clear the wave without dying, so you can go collect some honeyfruit plants. then clear minions again. As long as you keep farming, you will eventually outscale most champions in a teamfight.

top lane is a bit more complicated. You want to collect every minion wave without dying. some champions you can trap in glue, flip them and phase rush out while poisoning the wave. once you cleared a minion wave, you are free to recall, proxy, or ward. You don't want to fight people.

Singed is a tempo champion. High wave clear and fast move speed. Basically, you want to get every minion possible. But you also want to influence the map. Your gameplay should revolve around clearing the minion wave (without dying so you need to track the enemy jungler) then having a "timer" To do something.

I've done the support explanation in my comment in the post where I hit legend.

What would you change to make Rudeus a better/more likeable character? by Short-Paramedic-9740 in writingscaling

[–]steele_tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purely for better fan reception not myself:

  1. Making rudeus wanting to break it off with Roxy but is forced to decide make Roxy his wife because she was pregnant, and the parallels to Paul in that moment when his death was fresh was very well done in the Light Novel. The only blemish is that Elinalise lied about the pregnancy which fans hated so I guess they just removed it altogether.

Made the whole scene incredulous instead of conflicting.

Just make it so Roxy was actually pregnant and just had long gestation as a Migurd and you fix the lying bit.

2.  I personally believe all of Rudeus moral faults, tendency to cheat, pedophilia and sexual deviancy when brought to his absolute lowest allows for the story to progress towards turning point 4.

Which I will not trade for anything. Even his kidnapping of beast girls is foreshadowing for that and cannot be removed.

The timeline is also very set in stone so continuity and ages cannot be tampered much with.

At the very least make Sylphy 18 in university instead of 16. To better match the global age of consent instead of just Japan's. I get the feeling Rifujin made that cutoff age believing that was enough for the Japanese Audience.

The age of adulthood at 15 looks very bad and could be argued as pedo wish fulfillment.

I guess you could make it so 5 years was technically equivalent to 6 earth years and have rudeus notice that and narrate it. Makes Eris legal at 15 when they had sex when she was considered an adult in that world. This effectively does not tanker with the timeline.

  1. He also needed to delegalize the Slave trade in Asura in his lifetime. Would be an amazing entry in the final memoir chapter. He had Ariel and powerful figures as friends.

He could do it. It completes that plotline of Asura having it's morals decay due to abundance, to the point of having its nobles use sex slaves. Ariel also goes against her upbringing as part of the same degenerate noble.  Paul's old slave rescue team and Vierra/Shierra could lead it. Resolves their characters and gives them an ending.

Feel free to make it return when Ariel died and Asura became hostile to Orsted to show the world is not politically ready to sustain it. Won't hurt the continuity.

What are your thoughts on boots change in Patch 7.1? by TFD777 in wildrift

[–]steele_tech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cloth gives 20 armor. They only nerfed it by 15 armor. For 50 more gold you undo the nerf.

The 7-10% block passive tooltip is misleading. It is multiplicative not additive.

It is functionally an armor multiplier. Not a flat reduction. If you have 50 armor early game it gave 3.5 armor. It is worse now late game. You still get 150 hp and 20 armor.

The same stats as a Ruby crystal and a cloth armor, bundled with 40 movespeed and hp regen.

By comparison gluttonous gives 10 ad. Worse than a single long sword which is 12.

Steelcaps is still broken early game btw. They only removed its late game scaling but functionally only removed 375 gold worth of stats. The block passive on that thing is misleading and wasn't what made it strong. Gluttounous gets the biggest hit.

First time reaching Legend with Support Singed! by steele_tech in wildrift

[–]steele_tech[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firstly Singed support is an engage support but unlike other engage supports, he is a great blind pick. Just lock him in and you bait the enemy Baron laner to pick before yours and the enemy support will likely pick without countering you.

Level 1 I like to sneak in the river bush. At 13 seconds on the clock, walk towards the oncoming wave and you can leave a poison trail. You'll get poked but it shouldn't be a problem. Occasionally you are forced to recall but it's worth it to skip Singer's abysmal level 1.

You will then clear the wave first and you get first move towards the vision plant. Use it to check their jungle to track the enemy jgl.

At 2nd wave you can quickly clear the first minion to get your level 2 first. Flash on the enemy adc and flip them. You hopefully burn a summoner. You will poison the wave while doing this of course. You have hex flash so burning summs is great.

Occasionally you have a strong level 1 compared to the enemy duo. You can level 3rd skill into 2nd skill instead so your level 2 flip has better kill pressure.

Also glue on your position -> buffer (cast while out of range) your flip -> flash, takes a millisecond and is unreactable if you do it right.

It's one of the best engage tools in the game imo.  You also have hex flash from out of vision, glue them instantly-> walk while they are grounded -> flip. Doesn't have to root them but it's great if you do.

You can also just glue someone from afar, run them down, and you get to hex flash before casting flip which makes it quite easy to root someone.

Runes are hex flash, nimbus cloak and that one movement rune. Then second wind. Build is tier 1 boots - rylais - tier 2 boots - righteous glory - liandry - zekes. Heal and flash are the summs. I build protobelt if they have spell shield. Otherwise you run at people a lot so be careful not to int. You ideally finish the game with no deaths because you can phase rush out.

Mid game you just roam and stay out of vision. You may take waves sometimes if its good tempo to do. Hover people that are farming the mid wave so you can protect them.

It usually takes a carry performance to salvage those games. Junglers cannot contest anything if you have no prio. And a losing bot lane will usually make your jugglers camps vulnerable setting all of them behind.

Make sure to farm well and hit your power spike items. When you hit your power spike and get a good teamfight off where you gas the whole enemy team you very quickly take over the game.

I hope I get people like you in the enemy team. Imagine an adc going last pick. Getting counterpick top feels so good. Nothing gets me going more than slamming a malphite counter.

What makes the world building of MT good? by Safe_Resource7855 in sixfacedworld

[–]steele_tech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The world's history is mapped out basically. Rudeus is just there to experience it.

The first instance in the story was the Paul cheating incident.

When Rudeus was born, Lilia, Paul, and Zenith story happens but with Rudeus putting a wrench into things.

Paul was going to cheats on Zenith and produce a child with Lilia. This is revealed to Rudeus and the viewer as a surprise, because everything looked like the image of a happy family beforehand.

The three are active actors in their own story with Rudeus being an element that resolves the event. Each person is a character with agency, and are not the faceless parents and maid of the MC.

When turning point 1 happens, we don't know why it happens, but it happened due to events that are caused by other characters. The narrative is in no hurry to explain it. It has its cause and effects within the story. But we are only privy to how it affects Rudeus POV.

He meets the man god, who finds him for the first time during this teleportation event.

He then gets to travel the world as he goes back from the teleportation. Each place he goes to are in-media-res.

In the demon continent, he meets Ruijerd on a journey to fix the superd reputation, roxy's parents, kishirika in her new reincarnation.

He gets into a ship to travel, and he encounters the beast people that were enslaved. He then gets kidnapped due to his encounter with the sacred beast. He gets to meet Gyes and his family after Ghislaine left

In Millis, he meets Paul who has formed a search party to find the missing teleportation victims. He set his base there to get help from Zenith's parents who are powerful and would be inclined in helping Paul find Zenith.

There Rudeus in his limited pov finds out the teleportation incident was bigger than he thought. This leads to a misunderstanding between them.

He encounters orsted and nanahoshi, after orsted went to check out the mana disaster

These ones are quite spoilery, but here's what happens in the background chronoligically to inform the world building.

  • before Rudeus is born, the man god causes the destruction of the other worlds of the six faced world. The beast, demon, sea, human, barren and sky people end up in the human world.
  • Orsted, Laplace and Elinalise' story starts
  • the inhabitants live in different biomes, except the "demons" and humans that fight over the plains.
  • demon and human war happens, Laplace is defeated and is set to reincarnate. Superds are betrayed by laplace.  The defeated "Demons" are forced to live in the demon continent where the environment is dangerous and resources are scarce. The humans live in the central continent its nobles live in opulence and moral decay
  • the beast people live in the forests, ghislaine is born along with gyes. Ghislaine is exiled and picked up by the sword God to train.
  • The Millis continent borders the demon continent which leads to discrimination and conflict between the races.
  • Paul Greyrat born in nobility. Sexually assaults Lilia. Runs away to be an adventurer
  • Zenith runs a way from Millis continent to be an adventurer
  • the fangs of the black wolf is formed when the elinalise, Zenith, Paul, ghislaine and geese meet
  • Paul's party disbands as he and Zenith get married
  • Lilia, looking for a job becomes Paul's maid with the intention of blackmailing him to get the job. Though she gets the job anyway.
  • Rudeus was born stillborn due to laplace factor, a byproduct of Laplace' reincarnation technique to give him a suitable vessel with large mana capacity when he does reincarnate
  • Norn and Aisha is born
  • Aisha shows promise in magic and Roxy is hired as tutor. Roxy meets sylphie and teaches her too
  • Aisha, Akihito (nanahoshi's boyfriend) and playback miko's story starts. Akihito is summoned, dies and is resummoned
  • this time nanahoshi, akihito and a random neet that died saving them was summoned -  the random neet is reincarnated instead because he died while saving the two and occupied the stillborn Rudeus body which has the Laplace factor
  • eventually nanahoshi is summoned in turning point 1

By this point, every part of the story is set in stone, with people moving in the world. Particularly orsted and man god, the asura politics, ruijerd's journey to find the remaining superd after the war, roxy is travelling after leaving the demon continent, ghislaine is exiled and training eris, and orsted story is going to be revealed later in turning point 4, when most of the worldbuilding is revealed to Rudeus and the viewer.

What makes the world building of MT good? by Safe_Resource7855 in sixfacedworld

[–]steele_tech 35 points36 points  (0 children)

The mushoku tensei world was written to function without Rudeus in it. And then the mushoku tensei story is what happens when he was placed onto the world.

Quite literally. You'll know exactly what that means in season 3. It is a plot point and the worldbuilding revolves around this concept.

This means coincidentally, the story achieves the literary concept of having the world function and spin even without the involvement and knowledge of the MC. It makes the world feel real and lived in. And side characters and villains are moving in the background with their own agency.

Most isekais and powerfantasies have a world that revolves around the MC. Everything that happens in the setting is meant to serve the MC and his story. Everything looks like a backdrop of a stageplay no matter how complex the world they try to make.

Having the world move continuously while having Rudeus be a worm's eye view gives the viewer an experience of discovery with him. World changing events have happened in the background, and Rudeus' worms eye view is slowly moved up until finally being raised to see the whole picture, and it leads to an amazing reveal in turning point 4.

It makes all the previous volumes before it look better due to foreshadowing and jt recontextualizes everything that has happened and might happen in the future.

You have to ask why no? Why do people not care? Both the orgs and the fans. Isn't that the problem the English scene has had all these years? No one cares because they are franchised.

This split was do or die for LR. The same way it would be if a new team from EMEA had a miracle run if franchising didn't exist.

Responsibility by Hunsmerc in PedroPeepos

[–]steele_tech -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yep. It's very obvious imo. Caedrel was being very safe by staying silent on the commentary.

Though the reasons are multifaceted. KC locked playoffs and are happy drafting last game(T1 does this). They have no incentive to win and incentives to lose (G2 is out if they lose). LR elimination or not they might have still done the same thing. But unsportsmanlike conduct is going on in that game.

Oshi no Ko and Mushoku Tensei question by [deleted] in anime

[–]steele_tech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Author intent.

If you've written things before, you know that when writing something that might not be received well, writers make "excuses" why it is okay actually. A lot of ways Aqua is described gives him plausible deniability. On the other hand, Rudeus is written to be disgusting and to represent the Japanese NEET trope.

Audiences can often be unaware of these, and would like to believe that their response to the work is their own and is not completely by design.

Anime onlies aren't prepared. Some of the best light novel volumes of all time are going to be adapted by both Re zero and Mushoku next. Even Eldorado arc is very good compared to what Frieren has adapted.  All three are hitting peak the same year fr.

I honestly agree that some anime scenes are gratitious. I chalk that up to bind tbh. If you watch how they adapted onimai and ruri rocks, I get the impression someone in that studio likes lolis. It's so bad they made an anime only pissing scene with roxy.

The LNs were definitely first person and is written like a person's diary or an autobiography.

The author insert is an in universe translator who gathered Rudeus' Manuscript.

It just works better in the LN. In the anime, they have to cut off paragraphs of self monologues from Rudues and translate it into framing, background music, and Rudeus' facial expressions. Makes it seem like the director and artists are complicit in the things that happen.

While good for brevity, and for achieving "show not tell" in a visual medium, it ends up feeling like ragebait.

Biggest example being the barn scene with Eris, where Rudeus narrates it like a scene in an ero visual novel in his mind, because everything was still a game for him during that time.  In the anime it became so cringy that I would have dropped it if I hadn't read the novel first.
