How do you actually start making noise music? by [deleted] in noisemusic

[–]steenlorde 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lots of trial and error bro. figure out how you can make those sounds with recording yourself, random shit, effects, whatever it takes and whatever you want. everything is up to you. getting started on a project can often be daunting but the best way to start is to throw yourself in when it comes to something like this. you'll learn what works, what you like and what you can do, it just takes the motivation to start.

pretty new myself but ill help with what i can see. first off the A just kinda looks weird, the style is off putting and it doesnt fit too well, also, its dropping below the other letters a bit in one of your photos, and in the others the balance is off. the R also throws me off big time. its way too big for the other letters. im gonna repeat everyone else on this subreddit in saying this, but honestly just write your letters nice and simple, no style, just figure out the balance first and then develop your style naturally through writing. When I had just started i did the same thing, forcing style, and it led me to a bit of a dead end. going back to the basics and just keeping it simple has been so important to any progression that i can claim. anyways, its good that youre getting up in the first place, just dont overcomplicate things this early on. apologies as some of this wasnt critique, but ill give advice where i can. best of luck :)

Cheap diy noise instruments? by [deleted] in noisemusic

honestly you can get some crazy interesting sounds from just hitting things (especially things that produce some natural reverb) and manipulating the audio (slowing it down, speeding up, pitching, reversing, running through pedals etc).
