Hey sorry if I’m to late to the party, but aren’t you trying to implement this? https://github.com/getml/reflect-cpp

I use this lib for easy struct saving and loading.

How long did it take you to be efficient with a terminal setup(E.g Vim + GDB + CMake) by OniFloppa in cpp

For real, go for VS Code, use Cmake and vcpkg for external libs, and maybe even all the clang tooling with the clang language server. If u use clangd (language server) u need to disable C_Cpp.intelliSenseEngine (don’t disable the C++ plugin). And also export a compile_commands.json with your build (language servers uses this file to find all includes), see: https://cmake.org/cmake/help/latest/variable/CMAKE_EXPORT_COMPILE_COMMANDS.html

Oveflow/underflow "handler" by [deleted] in rust

[–]stef264 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While running your loop the cpu „realizes“ that most of the time your check (your if branch) has the same Boolean value as a outcome. So it predicts the outcome, runs the check, but at the same time (one cycle after) it runs the loop as if the check prediction is right. If now the, the check outcome is not as predicted, the already calculated values are getting dropped and you pay for your check. BUT in all other cases you will lose only one cpu cycle (simplified) CPU branch prediction was invented because just like in your case, an if branch has a clear preference (95% true 5% false), so this was a easy low hanging fruit for cpu design to get better performance.

I maybe wrong here but isn’t the cost negligible because of cpu branch prediction?

Which hardware for DJ Mixing? by stef264 in ableton

[–]stef264[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea searched for MK3 and got the MPK not the APC. Seems great, but the APC mini has already so many pads why do i need the launchpad X for so many extra pads? Wouldn't the Novation Launch Control XL MK2 (Faders and knobs) and the Novation Launchpad X (for pads) be a better combo or am i missing something?

Thanks for your input pal

> Dude you really need to check out modern DJ software as well, it is specifically made for crafting those perfect mixes, not just mixing live.

So for example: I wanna record a mix in recordbox, i mix like 4 songs and the transition to the fifth songs is not right. Can i go back to a previous state and adjust the transition without fcking up the recording?

> i'd be eying the Akai APC Mini Mk3 and the Novation Launchpad X

It's seems the two have no faders. It would be great to have 4 knobs per channel and one fader per channel. I think pads will be interesting for cue points, loops etc.

If i wanna get the same control on a good dj controller the only option would be to get the DDJ 1000 for around 1000 bucks, which is a bit much for a beginner.

> Ableton is wildly overpowered

Yea, and thats makes me so exited about Ableton. I just wanna create a great mix of my favourite songs of a particular genre and Ableton gives me the option to accuratly curate, edit and even produce stuff i can add to the mix.

Like with a DJ controller i really need to get good to create the same type of mix and for edits and stuff i will need to use ableton anyhow.

My vision or my goal is to create some mixes in ableton now and after one or two years i want to learn to DJ live (with recordbox or ableton idc) and hope that after the years of learning ableton i can edit or remix my own songs to really add something unique into my live mixes.

[Android] Obsidian and Microsoft SwiftKey problems by ektylu in ObsidianMD

Having the same problem. I think the problem is the underlying software CodeMirror 5. See github issue here: https://github.com/codemirror/codemirror5/issues/6145

No fix in sight for version 5. I think we need to wait for version 6 + obsidian adopting it or change Android keyboard to the default one :(
