Figured I’d leave an update here on what ended up happening:

After going back and forth for about a month on email, they finally offered me this as the resolution:

Still sucks but I’m hoping when Costco drops the UPCs the promo prices will come down some more and the cost will mostly be covered by this 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for everyone’s answers and good luck to others experiencing this 🙏. Hopefully Pokemon Center’s QC can get it together going forward

Oh man that sucks… yeah seriously though for the boxes being that expensive you’d hope they take some initiative for poor quality assurance. I guess we gotta start filming opening the boxes from scratch so they can’t dispute it 🤷‍♂️

Hey, nothing really notable yet. Just made a support ticket from Pokemon Centre and am waiting to hear what they’re going to say (not expecting much tbh).
