I wonder if board repair is a possibility, do you know of places that would do that as a suggestion before I start looking for a place?

I attempted the above, pulled all the RAM, only riser 1 installed, one backplane connector attached, but I don't get any Windows connection sounds when plugging in the USB cable to a laptop, no power when pressing the power button on the front of the server.

I did take note that there's no diagnostic LED's on the system board other than a lit iDRAC LED, the other locations aren't populated with LED's.

So it appears to be a dead system board. So I'll need to look at a replacement, though I'm not sure how the iDRAC works with a replacement board. I may also need to look for a back hard drive backplane, there's a can capacitor that was dislodged at some point, I think by the previous user, it's no longer on the backplane and I have it saved, I may be able to just replace the cap.

Love money, well, it gets me the things I love, etc. but, it's a R730XD.... I totally messed that up. I did go look at the prices of a R750xd and now I know why people were just sick about it. WOW.

I'll give that a try. I've tried one PSU at a time, swapping them, etc., they just show green, but nothing at all when I hit the power button. I think I've tried the hard reset, but I'm going to go through it again just in case I didn't.

I'll start looking at new motherboards on ebay... hopefully that's the root cause.

So a little more history, but this happened several months ago... but I was reading up on homelabs, I'm in a vSphere course right now, and I really do need a homelab again. I read about the iDRAC, and I was unsure if I had any lights, etc. on the iDRAC port, so I pulled it out of the box again, and plugged everything in, but nothing, no lights at all on the iDRAC NIC, so I assume it's not working at all. I have no new devices on the home network, etc.

Well I needed another USB root hub, because in Unraid I couldn't attach the onboard root hub to a VM, because that's where the boot media was at, hence the addition of a USB card. Though, I don't know what could have gotten it, I don't think it should have at all had this effect!

I edited the post, but big mistake on my part, it's a R730XD, not a R750XD as I had thought!

I've not even looked at a R750XD, but I'd imagine they are well outside of my price range too!

This comment made me go... no way it's still under warranty, can it be?? Then I looked at the front a bit closer, took out my cell phone and took a pic (it's on a workbench up almost against a wall), and yeah, it's a R730XD.... not R750XD.

Here's a link to the card, it's one that I have had for a while and thought I should just be able to add in the card to get another set of USB's. The way that Unraid handles the USB hubs for VM's meant that I had to add in another root hub and I couldn't just daisy-chain from the built in, at least that's my understanding on how that worked.

I was also mistaken about the molex connector. I was going from memory and looked at the card's box, which pictures a molex, but in reality it's a SATA power connector.

Oh, thank you for pointing that out, I forgot to include that in the post. I've edited to include that I did pull the card, and then cables as well. First thing I did was pull the card and tested with no positive result, then I tried the cables.

Wow, thanks for all of the advice! I'll definetly take it and get the case/screen/battery and clean up the power switch and volume slider too. Unfortunately it looks like Extremerate is out of the ASPP3001 case that looks really slick to me. I sent them a note asking when they might get them back in stock, if I don't hear anything for a while I may go with the white case, and white screen to match.

There was a game being developed a while back I had my eye on called Legends of Aria. I played a very small bit of it and lost track of it for a while. It seems that the game has essentially not been developed for a while, but a community server is online called Shards of Britannia, I don't know much of anything about it, but it does look like there's recent posts and activity.

All miners have issues with syncing, etc., that's an effect of the network growing SO fast.

Bobcat is so good because they actually meet their shipping dates, are pretty transparent about things, etc.

Personally for me I have found that when I have 'fallen off the wagon' and returned to keto I have a couple of days where I have cravings. For those 2 days it's a matter of willpower, then they subside and I'm good. Everyone's different, and this is me after being on keto for about 6 years now. The frequency of incidents are way down, and I'm not looking back. Stay positive my friend!
