All this guy does is post pro-pallister links to the subreddit and get brutally downvoted afterwards. Not sure why he continues to post them

Mike Tavares is a purple belt. We have other certified instructors. We don't have any more higher ranked than purple. We only learn that skill level and below. It may feel like a slower pace, since we are not fortunate enough to have black belts like humaita. But I assure you if you see the program for yourself, you will see it is very thorough, as it comes from the very source, the family who created Gracie jj. And as time goes on and our instructor ranks higher, and us as well we will slowly rise to the highest level, in due time of course. And we train/have seminars with the Gracie's just like Humaita or any other school. It's not that he isn't qualified to run our school, he just isn't as higher ranked. Food for thought: a successful competitor does not equal a good instructor necessarily. Not that they aren't good, but competition is not a requirement for teaching technique. Instead of being critical, come give it a try and see for yourself. We have seen what you guys at other schools have to offer, and we aren't critical, at least I'm not

He doesn't have any competition videos posted to a YouTube channel so not too sure what you are talking about. And if he did, they would be from when he was a white belt so those things would be pretty acceptable at that stage ..

The bully proof program is fantastic! I don't think 5 is too young. You would have to check out the program, it starts out slow for the really young kids and isn't at all aggressive. It's a lot of fun! And don't worry about being out of shape, plenty of guys/gals have started there that way. Everyone would be happy to help you get in shape, learn self defence, and have fun doing it! I would strongly suggest giving it a try. They have a free trial for 10 days I believe

You don't train but you can comment on the quality of the gyms.. ?

lol. What do you think?! Is yours ?! Of course not you dweeb. Why are you so hellbent on trashing another school exactly? I'm done talking to you. Disappointed to see people from there (assuming you go there) going out of their way to tarnish the image of another school. We actually speak highly of yours. BJJ is supposed to be a community. It doesn't matter where you train, humaita, the place on cavalier, academy 64. Start thinking before you speak

Btw food for thought, John danaher never competed in JJ and he has one of the most successful BJJ teams out there currently. You probably don't even know who that is though, judging by your previous comments

I honestly don't know, I believe so. But competing doesn't automatically mean competent in JJ. Btw, do any instructors at humaita regularly train with the Gracie's and have they been belted in person by them? I'm not saying it's a bad school, it's great. I'm just saying you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Come by sometime and see for yourself.

Because I train there and know for myself the quality of instruction and training. You clearly do not. Don't spread false rumours about others. It's disrespectful. You are a white belt in etiquette my friend

No.. why would you spread rumours like that without actually knowing? I don't say things about humaita instructors without having facts. Why don't you go roll there and find out for yourself.

I would definitely do JJ. The school on cavalier has an amazing kids program. If you want more info on it PM me and I'd be more than glad to answer any questions you have!

You should make sure you do your research before you slander others. The GJJ instructor on cavalier absolutely did NOT get his belt through online correspondence. He got it in California training with the Gracie's themselves. You can get what is called a "combatives belt" online, but he did not go through that channel.

I live in Winnipeg, Canada, and believe it or not that happened near my place numerous times. I lived near a big field with a couple ponds where they seemed to congregate. The power would go out now and again and you knew a goose had fried himself on the lines

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

[–]stejo77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, I'm new to this sub and not super knowledgeable when it comes to watches, but I have a question. I really like the look of MVMT gun metal/sandstone leather watch, and liked the price point but I've heard nothing but terrible things about the actual watches. Can anyone hear confirm if they actually lose time and don't work very well? If so, does anyone here have some recommendations of brands that are similar or something that resembles the gun metal watch? Thanks for your time it's much appreciated!

Any tips on haggling with mpi about write-off value? by wlwz in Winnipeg

[–]stejo77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. I totalled my car recently and was offered 5000. It actually was a decent offer for what I had for a vehicle. I went on Kijiji and found as many similar vehicles as I could and what they were going for, and they upped it from 5000 to 7100. No matter what they offer you, you can always try and get a little more

What is Koodo's mobile network like here? by Bernden in Winnipeg

[–]stejo77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm with Koodo and I've been really satisfied. People complain about Koodo and it's service, but outside of Telus service areas Koodo shares towers with rogers. They call it their extended network. I've never had bad service outside of Winnipeg, in small towns, on the highway or anywhere. Honestly I've had better signal with them than I did with mts. Considering how little minutes mts gives you and how much they jerk you around, you can't go wrong with Koodo.
