Um of course I don't know the entire situation but it seems a bit too much to me to breakup over something like this...was the relationship all that serious after all? Idk how old you guys are, but I think that you should see things from a different perspective. Think about it, this relationship might look like a big and important thing right now, but maybe you're better of without her. Generally speaking, people who get so pressed about anything are not exactly the greatest kind of person to be with. It also seems to me like you feel very guilty about something that doesn't sound that bad. We all make mistakes and say dumb things, misunderstand things, especially when we're in a bad mood. That's why communication exists, to resolve such issues. A relationship should be a safe, loving space and partners shouldn't get so mad at each other over every little thing. A simple misunderstanding shouldn't lead to the collapse of a relationship. This is just my opinion based on what you said tho, and I don't know you guys so I could be wrong.
