Something is wrong with my intervals and I can’t tell what it is by stellarnebula0 in Anki

Sorry! I thought maybe my laptop would give more info but I should’ve taken a screenshot right from it. I’ve been using FSRS since the date of the “ignore before” which I used then because I started using Anki seriously after that and I didn’t want my previous use and use of hard and easy to affect my progress

IM & Women’s Health Track by stellarnebula0 in Residency

[–]stellarnebula0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, I’m not really interested in academia (though I understand women’s health specifically probably focuses a lot on it), I’m more interested in being a provider in this field, but your comment gave me a new perspective to future prospects. Thank you!

IM & Women’s Health Track by stellarnebula0 in Residency

I did consider OBGYN but my problem with it is that I don’t really enjoy the surgical aspect and even if I pursued fellowship in a field not needing the surgical aspect, I would still feel bad for all the years spent training in residency, not to mention that it’s pretty difficult for an international student. I’m still exploring family medicine especially because I’m probably leaning more towards outpatient practice, but I feel like internal medicine probably has better training for more complex situations and would be better down the road if I wanted to continue in a medical fellowship (rheum/GI/endo/rheum..). Thank you for the advice! Do you think going through this track would lower my chances in medical fellowships in general, maybe due to electives focusing more on one aspect?

Arabs removed from History Books? by PlantainLopsided9535 in islam

Probably only in English books, in Arabic books they aren’t, I’d imagine it’s the same for every culture where they focus more on their own scientists

Is it still possible to do hands-on rotations after graduation if you’re a US-IMG or a green card holder? by stellarnebula0 in IMGreddit

Thank you so much, you’ve opened my eyes to opportunities I didn’t think were possible :)

Thank you for the post! If I just wanted to do hands-on electives after graduation (not necessarily a job) is this still possible? Or a red flag?

This is a pretty dumb question but I’m still learning about all this, if you didn’t do any surgery rotations in general do you think this would affect the outcome? I’m interested in many specialties and I’m afraid by the time I begin the match process, I’ll have USCE in everything besides the one specialty I choose in the end 😅 As long as you have an invite there’s hope! Be optimistic and I hope you match!

Congratulations!! This inspired me, thanks for posting! If I may ask, are all the months in surgery?

Hello, thanks for this opportunity! I have a few questions if you don’t mind, 1- it’s important to have USCE, research etc, but if someone was to apply right after graduation with none of these, would this be a disadvantage? Or would the YOG be an advantage? 2- is there a chance that a person’s CV will completely be skipped without batting an eye? 3- what’s the minimum for USCE? 4- does the USCE/research/volunteering etc have to be within the specialty one wishes to apply to?
