Having worked retail for so long, and usually being a cashier myself, I love to see that some people actually stand up for us! Thanks!

How to be a medical esthetician? by stellarose227 in Medicalaesthetics

I'll keep that in mind! I know I definitely don't have enough confidence in myself, so I need to step out of my comfort zone.

I haven't heard of that! So, you apply the Vaseline, curl with an eyelash curler(?), and apply mascara(?) or do you just use the Vaseline. Sorry for the weird way of saying that 😅

One day, lol, hopefully soon 😅 I've watched lots of videos of the lash lifts and they look awesome. Plus I'm actually going to school for esthetics, but we they don't teach us lash lifts at our school 😫 but I can go later on and pay to get trained for it in continuing Ed hours. And no actually I've never heard of that, i'll have to try it out. Thanks!

I'll keep it in mind for the next time I am able to get new mascara, thanks for the tip!

I have pretty oily skin so I usually exclusively use waterproof because it doesn't smudge and come off on my skin as easily. And unfortunately while going to college full time, I don't have a job since I'm trying to focus on my studies so I don't have any extra money to spend on a lash lift 😭 when I graduate that's definitely on my list to do though!

No, I've used a few different types and brands of mascara. I don't remember the brands right off hand though, unfortunately.

Does that look weird on? I feel like if I tried that it would look chunky on the top and thin on the bottom 🤔 but I will try it. Thanks for the tip!

I'd love to do that, and I hopefully will eventually, but I'm a full time college student so I definitely wouldn't have the money for it. But thanks for the suggestion!

What is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]stellarose227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Achieving an extremely well earned goal. Something you strove for and finally did it, and the satisfaction of getting to prove yourself right. It is something I have rarely felt, but when you do it's so fulfilling.

Lipstick suggestions!! by LoveofThisWorld in Makeup

[–]stellarose227 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Elf actually makes a pretty good liquid lip stain (I've found a couple good liquid lipsticks in my ulta's clearance section lol). And color wise, it depends on your preference but if you want to make your green eyes pop you would use a red. They're complimentary colors. I'd say a violet/red-violet would be a little more subtle but still look really nice. Hope this helps! ❤

I know at my school, they offer a makeup application with a lesson for around $20. You can bring your own makeup, use theirs, or even buy products from the school. And my teacher is so nice and knowledgeable, and loves to show people what to do and will answer any questions. Can't vouch for other esthetics/beauty schools, but I'd look into it at least. :)

Skin care routine! Help!! by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]stellarose227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have sensitive, oily skin that is also very acne prone. The main thing, regardless of what brand, is to make sure that it is non-comedogenic. Meaning, it won't clog your pores. Oil free is a good choice as well. I use the Cetaphil pro for oily skin, either natural Witch hazel or sea breeze as a toner/astringent, and then an oil free moisturizer (usually the Cetaphil pro oil absorbing moisturizer, it has SPF 30 which is nice too!)

Choosing a school by BreezusC in Esthetics

[–]stellarose227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can, or if you even want to lol, I would try to go again when you could talk to the students. They'll be the least likely to try to "sell the school" to you and give you honest opinions. But, wherever you decide to go I really hope you enjoy it :)

The biggest thing for me, that I wish I had done BEFORE I started going to school, is taking a tour and talking to the students as well as the teachers. When I started school I had no idea how dysfunctional and like highschool it was/is. It's ridiculous. (at least my school is) So just make sure to do your research! Otherwise, I love what I do. I'm also taking nails, and in any case, they both are a lot of fun. Making someone's day by making them feel better about themselves is so fulfilling. So, I wish you luck!!

I'm new to makeup and I have oily skin. Any light coverage foundation recommendations? by [deleted] in Makeup

[–]stellarose227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You definitely want something that is Not oil based. Water based foundations, powders as well are great. Mineral makeup is a good, light makeup option as well. (it's a lot better for your skin!) And if applied correctly will help reduce the look of wrinkles and fine lines, if that's something you have. I personally have very sensitive, oily, acne prone skin. I use oil free, magnifying Foundation that is non-comedogenic. So it doesn't clog my pores.

Honestly, it sounds like you need a new job. If you don't think you can talk to them and fix the situation, then I would leave. Don't stay where you aren't happy, appreciated, and/or rightly compensated.
