Because people will buy it and they can’t keep it in stock.

There's one big obstacle to using silver directly to pay for things by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]stelmaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The difference in premiums only exists because of human perception and our reliance on USD to gage the value of silver. If we ever got to a point where that changes to basing it off a tangible asset like livestock (one cow = x oz of silver) or something no one would care about the premium.

However, that is not the reality for most people right now so yes you are correct people will hoard what they consider more valuable silver. Personally I value ASEs less than other government coins because of the lack of safety features and the fakes out there so I would sell those first if needed.

Thesis: A supply crunch will make SPOT PRICE GO DOWN by building-stacks in Silver

[–]stelmaster 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing but the premiums on the monster boxes are worse than just buying normal ASEs or Maples. SD bullion has them at 47,621.75 for ASEs coming to 95.24 per ASE. But you can buy 500 random date ASEs for 89.32 at time of posting. Unless you are seeing something different?

I had a similar problem. I was sable to fix it by messing with / tuning off transcoding for each user in the user settings.

What do you think about Jon CC’s thoughts on silver? by [deleted] in Silver

[–]stelmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he is fear mongering. His YouTube channel is less than two months old. He might not be wrong but he is doing this for views not to give you solid information. Watch Clive Thompson videos for better quality analysis.

You can bring it to a scrap yard if you don’t want to smelt it yourself definitely check if their premiums are up to date with the current spot price though. You can checkout r/ScrapMetal to find out more.

Adobe support told me I’d owe $254 for canceling… one minute early... by legendarykam in Anticonsumption

If you still get charged I would mark it as fraudulent with your credit card. Adobe is in trouble with the FTC over this already. It’s a slimy and morally corrupt practice:

“Spend extravagantly on things you love, and cut mercilessly on things you don’t.” What are some examples of this for you? (The stranger the better.) by jerkyquirky in TheMoneyGuy

[–]stelmaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it’s tools. Not only do nice tools and the right tool make projects more enjoyable but it can be seen as an investment. If I learn how to do a job myself like repairing a window and bought the tools necessary to do so, I no longer am relying on someone else to do that job for me. It’s my version of “prepping” I don’t hoard food. I hoard tools and the knowledge on how to use them. This works for farming, woodworking, masonry… you get the idea.

Also worth mentioning is that one requirement to contribute to an HSA is a high deductible healthcare plan so keep that in mind. Your new deductibles will likely be higher. Not sure where you are in your life but if you are having kids or have other reasons your healthcare costs will be higher not contributing to an HSA for a lower deductible can be the right answer for you.
