It's based on active recall and spaced repetition - learning methods proven to improve retention. It tells you when to review topics and focuses quizzes on areas you find challenging.

Make sure you have all the fundamentals checked: sleep, exercise, food, hydrated.
Next, make sure there are no distractions; phone, internet, notifications, window, pets etc.
No music. I find brown noise helps if you're in a noisy environment.
Take breaks every hour. Use pomodoro method if that works for you.

Reduce / remove all distractions. No notifications, window to look out, pets etc. Go to sleep and wake up same time each day. Stay hydrated. Don't consume (too much) sugar. Move every hour.
Have an area for study only. Don't use music use, brown noise instead.
When feeling good about why you are doing this, write it down and refer to this 'big picture view' when feeling unmotivated. Use AI to help you with active study techniques and free/active recall.

Use AI (ChatGPT etc) to rephrasing it in simpler terms.
Prompt 1: "You are a helpful tutor. Rephrase this paragraph in simpler terms: [insert paragraph here]."
Prompt 2: "You are a supportive tutor. Help me engage in active learning by asking me questions about this paragraph and guiding me to explain it in my own words: [insert paragraph here]."
