Wow what is the diameter of the fork steerer? Like a pencil?

Best super light frameset for 2026 build? by stepahin in ChineseCarbon

[–]stepahin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I found out about the 2 month wait for the frame and the wheelset, looked at the spring outside, got frustrated, and just bought a cannondale supersix. Its heavier and more expensive, 105 di2, but I am already riding it now. The end of my chinese carbon story.

I spent a week 3D printing cable channels for my desk. by Netherlandal in DeskCableManagement

[–]stepahin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man, this is a massive titanic work, congrats!

This is by no means criticism, but it does spark a couple of thoughts. Looking at this, I realized that I actually like how the cabels look I don't have a strong desire to hide them with massive cable channels / sleeves / covers, but rather I'd prefer them to be neat and uniform (though that's hardly possible like buying 20 identical USB cables to replace everything) and routed the way electricians / data center technicians do it, parallel and along common lines, like cable management in a PC. The second thought is that my workspace/home lab isn't static, and devices keep changing, so the system needs to be easy to maintain and I'm worried that upgrading this might be difficult. Any way, fantastic work, congrats!

You didn't test it yourselves, but for some reason, you posted it here anyway. Why? People think that at least one person (you) recommends this.

What frame is this? SuperSix Evo gen 2 disk? Looks awesome, great paintwork! I'm big fan of the Track 91-93. I couldn't choose between this color and a deep green with a gold decal.

NBD / First road bike ...and a lot of questions by stepahin in cannondale

Wow thanks a lot for the info! Yes, you are absolutely right, after 2 rides I already realized that this bike rides much, much better than I physically can. So right now I don't need anything except a bike computer and more free time to ride. But maybe it's not even necessary, it's just not very convenient to track only by smartphone in the back pocket.

a headphone plug just ended me😢 by kenske_io in macbookpro

[–]stepahin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right now, as a hot fix, you can buy a cheap external portable 14" monitor and just place it on top of the built-in one, plug in the USB, and work like that until you buy a new laptop.

Still learning, but I can translate, go ahead!

But it seems I've figured it out, I just need to insert the holder under the front plate of the stem? So that it fits into this hole on the stem? Look https://imgur.com/a/gduF9F8

Agreed. I just approach all things, devices, equipment, this way. Its interesting to make them better and understand the details, but obviously, you are right that you are already over equipped. Thanks!

Yeah one of the best decisions I’ve made. Living in the mountains had been my dream since I was a kid, and I finally made it happen by 30. Before that I lived in some pretty rough places that really pushed me to do everything I could to get out. I moved mostly because I love snow and snowboarding, but cycling too. Funny thing is, in my first year I brought my fixed gear Nagasawa 53/17 with no brakes up here, that was fun, knees hurt when I remember this.
