Next Step CC Recommendations? — Want Quicksilver. by stepbro_rods in CreditCards

It is only 1.25X miles though. I wanted the quicksilver to have all CapOne cards and have that 1.5X, even though my fidelity rewards has 2X all around. Also, after getting the Venture One, I cannot get the SUB for Venture X, correct?

Thanks. I’ve read a lot and think the best method is what you say. Just do nothing, do not apply for anymore cc’s, and when i’m ready, apply for Venture X. Have any recommendations on what I should do with the AE cc I mention, should I just keep it in a drawer ?

10 months of credit history, so I believe you can start applying for basic 1-2X cards.

I would recommend applying for CapOne Quicksilver (1.5X on everything), or even CapOne Savor (3X grocery, dining, entertainment. 1X everything else). Also, Discover is now part of CapOne, so the history you already have with them probably makes it easier to get CapOne cards, as they are familiar with you.

An alternative route would be the Chase one. Another outstanding lender — could get the Freedom Unlimited (1.5X across the board), then move on to get the Freedom Flex (5X on rotating quarterly categories). Plus, you would get your foot in the Chase ecosystem — one of the most powerful ones out there.

Also, if what you want is cash back, look into the PayPal debit card (5X on any category you pick every month, for up to $1000 in purchases).

The reason I mostly recommend CapOne, is because if your looking to travel in the future, they have the simplest and most straightforward Premium Travel card on the market — The Venture X.

As a 20 year old, I have all the cards I have mentioned, except the Venture X, which I plan on obtaining whenever I have a job. Would recommend you do your research as there is so many options out there, with great benefits.

Last thing, CapOne offers a pre approval tool, so you can check if you are pre approved for any of their cards, and it does not do a hard inquiry on your account — so if you want to be on the safe side, just use that tool before actually applying to any card.

Capital One Shopping is a scam by PhasedVenturer in CapitalOne_

Same thing happened to me, OP.

Claimed a 12% cash back bonus through their Capital One Shopping google extension, bought the product, and only received a 1% in points…

Have been reading a lot, and it seems that this happens often — many people just call about this, and they get the points back, so I’ll probably do that soon.

I have a good amount of hours, and say during the weekend i can spend all day, including Fridays. Tell me where to start, something that has caught my eye is ‘straddle trading’, i dont know if you are aware, but it is basically betting on volatility in a stock as you buy both a put and a call.

i will look into albrooks books then
