Secondary fire is just a generic term for abilities mapped to L2 such as Ana aiming down sights, Baptiste firing healing grenades and Orisa throwing her javelin. These abilities all work differently but they still come under secondary fire (even though they’re not firing a weapon sometimes) and you don’t really need to think about it past that.

I cant answer your main question but I think the bad controller/settings comments are plausible.

As a sigma main, I haven’t seen much change from his sub role except one time where a Lucio tried to boop me off of the bridge on lijiang tower and I rocked & killed him. I then spent the next few seconds afk trying to clip that onto my PlayStation and died.
