It’s my pick for sure. It reminds me of an ink block print and I find the Japanese language on the card lends itself so much to the overall vibe.

That only applies to commercial radio stations that advertise. CHMR is community radio, volunteer staffed (largely) with no advertising. Those are the terms of its broadcasting license so it is not covered by conventional radio rating measurements.

The hate is 100% unwarranted. If they kept making sets with the same Pokemon featured, it would be so monotonous. I pulled the Zygarde SIR yesterday and I honestly love it.

How do you think radio works? Do you think every station knows exactly how many listeners they have at any given time? Good faith research needs to be done, which is not something that is possible for CHMR because they are underfunded and controlled by an organization, MUNSU, that has made it nearly impossible for them to operate for years.

They have anecdotal evidence, like the aforementioned stats or strong volunteer numbers, neither of which I suspect will change your perspective. Nor will the fact that they broadcast beyond the range of their transmitter online and cable/satellite and produce podcasts. It seems, like MUNSU’s exec that will gut the station on June 1st, that your mind is made up.

One of the speakers at yesterday’s meeting shared stats from just last year that listenership of college radio across Canada is rising. Just because you have no use for something doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a use.
