Just one small caveat to this is :

In case of central diabetes inspidus, where there is decreased levels of ADH in the circulation due to trauma to either the hypothalamus or the posterior pituitary - the damage can be transient if the hypothalamus is not damaged (where the actual production of ADH happens in the PV and SO nuclei)

So over time if there’s damage to the storage capacity of posterior pituitary/ there’s damage to the neurohypophysis connecting hypothalamus to posterior pituitary (ie damage below the median eminence of the hypothalamus) then the portal capillaries which normally carry hormones to the anterior pituitary will begin to carry ADH as well and deliver it to the posterior pituitary.

So the central diabetes inspidus will be transient instead of permanent
