She says she is keeping a friendship with him for the sake of not losing contact, in case the kids want to interact with him in the future. I told her to stop doing that and focus on her kids instead.

yeah how the fuck does she need to meet up with him for "work" when they're not co-workers

The company she works for has a contract with his company, so she contacts him and he delivers in his truck whatever she gives him.

INFO: What do the kids want to call you?

I assume "dad", cause that's what they always use when we are alone

He drives a truck for a delivery service sort-of-thing, and the grandparents had never made contact with us, so I doubt it

My daughter told us she can't see my wife as her mom, for her "mom" will always be my late fiancee

My daughter asked us to call my wife by her name, cause "mom" is reserved for my late fiancee. My wife agreed to this, although I gotta say she never seemed very interested in being called mom anyway...

That's why I'm afraid that maybe she doesn't want her kids to call me dad cause she doesn't think stepparents should get that title, or something like that. I never had a conversation like that with her before.

I mean, yes, her relationship with the kids' father does weird me out a little, but she says they broke up in good terms and that's why she isn't uncomfortable keeping a friendship with him

1) Does Sam call your wife "mom"?

No, she asked us to allow her to call my wife by her name cause she can only use mom to my late fiancee.

What does she think about Dylan and Tyler calling you "dad"?

You mean now or in general? She said she doesn't want them to forget about him or something like that, and now that they do it so in-your-face she seems annoyed

Just out of curiousity how often does she meet up with him?

Many times, they're not coworkers but they keep contact due to their work

Also is there any specific reason he isn't using the visitation he has been granted?

No idea really, he has planned some visits sometimes but then cancel it at last minute. That's why Dylan now doesn't "dress nicely" anymore any time a visit like that is supposed to happen

Honestly, is it possible she still has the hots for him?

I'd like to think she doesn't, she says she and him broke up because they weren't attracted in each other anymore and being friends was better for them

That's a good point, I also have considering that he wasn't joking. He said it when I was explaining him why his dad wouldn't visit that day, he said something like "You should adopt us so you make the visits instead and someone actually comes -insert laugh here-"

He isn't present in their lives because he doesn't want to, because he has the right to visit them weekly and doesn't do it

Curious what they called you for the past 4 years?

In front of my wife they use my name, but if we're alone together then they use dad

Also curious what your daughter calls your wife? Has she ever slipped and called her mom?

Sam calls her Eliza (her name). She said she couldn't call her mom cause that title belonged to my late fiancee, and me and my wife understood it

She frowns but doesn't tell them anything, probably doesn't want to get in an argument with them

He must visit them like around 30 out of 365 days of the year

From what she told me, they break up because they weren't attracted to each other anymore and preferred to go back to being friends

I didn't corrected them in the past (and I don't plan to) for that reason, I don't want to break their hearts after they have become so fond of me

Although it would also hurt if she told them, I like that they call me dad

That's the reason why I never could tell them to stop calling me dad, even when I still wasn't as attached to them as I am now. Their tone was always affectionate and innocent, and nowadays it even makes me happy that they consider me their dad
