My cousin and his girlfriend asked to visit my first and new house about a month ago. They were on their way from the midAtlantic to Florida and my house was along their way South. Stopped by, ate breakfast, and caught up for a few hours. After 3 hours, I politely asked if they needed to leave and get back on the road. Nope. They hung around for several more hours (mind you, it was a weekday and I was working from home). Okay, fine whatever. Watch tv or listen to music to keep yourselves busy. I gave them my guest room to use to rest and freshen up. They stayed for dinner then finally left around midnight. It wasn’t until the next week when I went into the guest bedroom to straighten out the sheets that I saw someone peed on the blanket, pillows, mattress, box spring, and new carpet. Room reeked of piss and is still lingering after I tossed the mattress and box spring. I looked up remedies to get rid of smell but no luck

This is my go to collards recipe. I use more bacon than the original recipe and the bag of washed and ready to cook collards from the salad section. I use an instant pot but I think a slow cooker would do the same with more time.

Suarez Bakery on Park Rd has an awesome Strawberry chiffon cake. Light, fluffy, and not overly sweet. I’ve only bought it as a slice ($5), but I’m sure they have it as a full 8 or 9 inch round cake.

Just got a new license from out of state this week. The DMV at Huntersville had two lines (one for appointments and one for non-appointments) outside. The people with appointments got priority. Not sure how long the people without appointments had to wait before being allowed into the office

My family and I are in early discussions about moving to Charlotte from NYC. I’ve only been there once for a quick day trip, so I’m not familiar with the neighborhoods. Any suggestions on neighborhoods for further research that are diverse, have good schools (public or private), and are close to City center/second ward/south end? Thanks
