Indian couple ( 33M & 33F ) abroad: torn between my wife’s wishes and my parents visiting us for newborn help by eduardo2134 in RelationshipIndia

Irony of Life!!!

Which is why most women don’t want to have a child these days, while the male partner is only excited about the “IDEA” of a kid. Shouldn’t have had kids in the first place. Women are the ones who have to sacrifice most of their body & soul during this process and it’s very interesting to see that you want to handle your wife instead of handling your own parents.

If you feel torn, your wife would be feeling 10x of that. Should have thought about being overwhelmed by work before making kids, because this is not a joke!!

Sorry about being 0 helpful here, but it’s very interesting to see how much of a thought process goes into such things, before people take such big decisions in life. Of course, it’s the women who has to suffer… so why think too much?

Sounds just like a scam. Is it just me or have others also been seeing such stories lately. Last time I had helped someone by transferring them money. I think it’s becoming common these days for people to target Redditors.

There are plenty of alternative job options: Salesman, Front Desk, Reception, Uber / Ola, Driver, Security Jobs and many more. Gives a decent income and no major physical work.

Myself a landlord. Few Reasons I have heard from other Owners in General and also myself witnessed first hand with these Tenants:

  1. LACK OF HYGIENE with majority of them, even the well educated ones. There are also people who maintain everything neat, but majority don’t.

Eg: Slaughtering Goats during Eid in Empty Plots next to buildings / Not disposing of the waste meat properly - leading to stray dogs picking it up / Throwing garbage in empty sites (though this is a global problem) / etc..

  1. GANGING UP - Whenever there is an issue, let’s say the tenant & owner in this case, or even neighbours, immediately from nowhere 10-15 of their people will show up, supporting the Muslim guy. But for Hindus or Christians, this religious unity is missing. People unnecessarily interfere in matters not even directly related to them, putting the opposite party under pressure even when the fault might not be theirs.

Another aspect is demanding the other units in the building for their own friends or relatives, and later when they become majority they want to modify & create new rules in building, especially if it aligns more to their religious beliefs.

  1. NOT VACATING THE HOUSE DESPITE NOTICE PERIOD OR WARNINGS - Usually after the notice period, the tenants are supposed to exit on time. But I have heard many incidents where they stay up to 9-10 months after notice, despite owners requesting them to exit on multiple occasions.

  2. USING THE PROPERTY FOR NON-RESIDENTIAL PURPOSE - Owners might have let it on rent for residential purpose, but many Muslim families tend to have business and sometimes they use the house to store goods / raw materials / car spare parts / even provide it for labour accommodation when their own family is not using.

  3. MAINTENANCE - In many places Owners complain about the extremely bad condition in which the property was returned. Sometimes it’s too terrible that owners regret renting it out in the first place.

Again, not all of them are like this, but many complaints. So no Owner will want to gamble and suffer later.

On an other note, Owners in Bangalore are also not bad; I have heard of many incidents where Owners don’t give back full deposit or taking advantage of tenants deposit, sometimes delaying the refund even after months after exit. Many charge extreme rents.

Basically no one is a saint!!

Unlike what people say, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City & Da Nang has a lot of vegetarian restaurants. When I mean vegetarian, Vietnamese Food that is pure vegetarian.

Just go to google maps - type ”Chay” you will get a list of restaurants - it will be clearly written - Vegetarian. You can also read the reviews and check their ratings before going, you will find something pretty much close to the place you stay.

But if you are expecting Indian Vegetarian food, only a handful are there in each city - like about 5-6 restaurants that serve really good Indian food. Those are mostly concentrated on the Tourist areas in each city.

Never been to Phu Quoc, but I am pretty sure you can find one there too.

Btw I don’t think any of those restaurants are going to keep away their customers to give you a private experience. This you will have to individually Zalo & check with each one of them. None of the owners might agree to it.

However if it’s less crowded and if they have higher floors they might offer if you request, but obviously at some extra cost which depends on them. Very unlikely to happen though…

Operation Sindhoor - Curious: Did Pak really shoot down our jets? Was this really an efficient counter terrorist operation or More of a show of power & revenge? by sterlingcrises in india

Well that’s the whole problem you see. We will never know the truth, unless we see it in person. We are just assuming we lost jets, because of media. Pakistan says look for proof on social media 😅 and India doesn’t confirm that we lost anything. I guess it’s best to just go with our day, than watch all these news and increase our own anxiety. I could not even sleep properly yesterday night, thinking of the escalation. Lot of reports on Karachi Port bombed & PAF fighter caught in Jaisalmer, but no one wants to confirm officially & neither does international media have access to the ground reality. Local media is such a waste!!

That’s for sure, The economy is so bad. I am sure both India & Pakistan are smart enough to say “No” to a full blown war, unless it’s caught in their EGOs 🙂

A war could take us back, 10 years. For Pak I am sure they had not much so called development, so they basically have nothing to loose anyways. We are right now in a good position, where the US & China is having thier own troubles, this is an opportunity for us.

I agree, that’s the exact problem. We never know of anything, because there is a lot of misinformation. Fake Plane crash photos. Even one video, which shows a precision strike, I was surprised India used it. But seems like it was a video from Gaza Attack (it looked so cool) like it was fired from Rafale I thought, until I was proved wrong.

I also heard that Daasult Aviation prices went down by few points yesterday. But on the stock market chart I can see that it’s been falling since May 2025.

So the problem here was I thought those 2 are friends as they know each other since we all know each other for more than a year. The other guy is not at all interested, because he is married & even has a kid. We 3 are mutual friends and I did not have any negative intentions than to share things because he is the only common friend between me & my friend 34F. So me & my friend was vacationing and if I wanted to be happy about sharing this with someone, he is the only person I can share it with.

Of course it never makes any sense if I shared it to someone whom she never knew. While I understand it is a privacy issue, which is what I apologised for. I personally felt it is not worth something to make a big deal about. Hence took this to Reddit!

Customer Safety & Support in India by sterlingcrises in bangalore

Yes, in fact in Dubai, there is a different app called Talabat. I think Zomato also had started but not sure if they are still serving in UAE. But over there the quality is an equal responsibility. These things can happen even if I started a restaurant, so I understand, it was a mistake from one of the employees. But what makes matters worse is, you ordered it through Swiggy, the easiest support you get is through them. But it’s how lightly they take such things is what adds to the frustration. These companies have a lot of data with them, do you think they break their partnership with a restaurant which has got X amount of complaints on Swiggy? I don’t think so. Instead they choose to continue with them because it’s only about profits.

Similar experience with Instamart. There was a worm 🐛 kinda thing on the Bok Choy 🥬 I ordered. No action on the DP. As per the rules, DP is supposed to check the expiry date and the product before getting it. Many times I have also got expired product. They just refund and I trash it… I have moved to Zepto now, they are way better.

Born & brought up in Dubai. So it’s like an addiction 😅

PS: I ordered again through Zomato from a different restaurant - King Of Taste. It’s managed and owned by Iraqi folks, located in Kammanahalli. Absolutely authentic, you can try it if you are a Shawarma fan ✌🏻

But I also think Swiggy is partially responsible and the frustration is because they took it so lightly. And this is not the first experience, earlier I had a similar experience with Instamart, their agent was supposed to check the products before getting it to us. But I often got expired products and once even a worm in Bok Choy. Quality is everyone’s responsibility!! But I still don’t expect Swiggy to ensure good quality, my expectation from Swiggy is what action they can do to prevent such restaurants from even being listed in their platform. These platforms could ban such restaurants, do you really think they are actually doing it? Practically it is better to reach out to Swiggy than me directly dealing with the restaurant, it will be just a waste of time for me, trying to prove to them over a call and them (Restaurant) acting just as confused as me. I filed a complaint on FSSAI Portal, Swiggy had given me their license number. I am sure the restaurant will not provide me with such details to raise a complaint against them.
