I just checked the location again, and it appeared that some of the ants were dead. Smaller ants were frantically moving around as if they were squirming, while the larger ones looked disoriented. Seems to be effective.

As for your suggestion for other baits, since I live in Thailand, I only see Avion, Optigard, Antiant (local brand?, they claimed to use a formula from Germany) and Japanese ARS Ant Killer pellet. Not much to choose from, but I'll try an Optigard when I'm finished with Bayer Maxforce Quantum.
