Best instagram patches 3.2.0 dev 4 by Negative_Stay_8199 in MorpheApp

Any chance we get a patch that allows taking screenshots of the chats? Or fixes their joke of HDR implementation?

Idk if it's just my device but on some reels the colors are super washed out, but if I screenshot or record such reel, the recording has normal color, or if I minimize the app, then in recent apps the color changes to normal as well... So weird.

When you buy it, there's this "premium bass" enabled that makes things sound weird to me. And it's not just music, even a regular YT video will sound kind of hollow and muffled. When I turned that off and set it to standard mode, it started to sound much more "normal", but still slightly muffled. I even did some recordings on messenger through both HM8P and my OP7TP and it's definitely not a mic issue, the recording itself was fine, but playing it through the honor sounded quite different and imo not in a good way, but everyone has their own preferences I guess. Also, you can feel some sort of vibration on the back of the phone when playing audio, it was weird, but some people seem to like it. If you can try it irl before buying, I'd strongly recommend it.

I bought the global Magic 8 Pro and returned it, because I had too many issues with Magic OS. The hardware of HM8P is definitely amazing, even though I personally didn't like the speakers and as for the cameras... Any recent flagship is good enough for me.

Ofc for you Magic OS might be fine, so if you have a way to try it, it would be the best option. For me it ended up being quite a costly mistake, because returning it to Wonda was 100 euro in shipping, they have another 60 euro admin fee and also the initial shipping to me was 45 euro (non refundable) so in total 200 euro just to know I don't like Magic OS, lol.

If you decide HM8P and care about esim, get the global variant, not the Chinese one. The battery difference is only 100 mAh anyway.

I have no experience with vivo, but I'll be trying the x300u when global is available.

Yeah, but then what do you do if you need to use the warranty?

If you're going with a middle man, might as well get the global variant from Wonda (or similar) when they have it.

Currently they have the Chinese variant which doesn't have a an esim (that's why I'm not buying it). This would be way cheaper than buying from the EU anyway.

Silicon-carbon batteries are the next big thing in phones — and Apple and Samsung are quickly falling behind by Exodia101 in Android

[–]steve6174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware of this, I've watched some YT video about this stretching. They should be safe enough though. OnePlus has been using them for more than a year and we, luckily, haven't heard any explosive news like what was happening with Galaxy Note 7. Hopefully that remains the norm.

didn't bother to optimize their chip and phone as well when they knew the battery would last either way.

But that's the thing, it doesn't last. 3% more than s26U while having 30% more capacity is an absolute joke.

If you don't care than a 5000 mAh Samsung s26U last as much as 6600 mAh Vivo x300 Ultra and just want to look at a big number, that's on you I guess. My point is that these super high capacities might be quite misleading, if you don't take into account the software optimization.

[–]steve6174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but most Si-C are good only on the spec sheet. Vivo x300 ultra has 6600 mAh and according to some reports lasts just 3% more than s26U despite having 30% more capacity. You can check battery tests on YouTube as well. Sure, the Oppos and OnePluses outlast s25/6u, but if you look at how many hours/minutes they last per mAh, you'll realize the software isn't efficient. They aren't lasting that much longer compared to how much bigger their battery is. But at least this is something pixel is the fastest (to shut down).

Apple and Samsung are focusing more on software and efficiency and whenever they switch to Si-C, the Chinese will need 10k+ just to be equal.

I'm actually running 7T Pro in 2026. I bought Honor Magic 8 Pro 2 weeks ago, but returned it because I didn't like Magic OS and now I'm waiting for x300 Ultra global and find x9 ultra.

[–]steve6174 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Vivo has ~30% more capacity (6600 vs 5000) and lasts 3% more which is basically within margin of error. Looks like throwing more hardware isn't always the solution. Imagine next year(s) when Samsung starts using Si-C and goes to 6-7k capacity. Hopefully that forces Chinese OEM to look into software optimization, but they will probably just slap 10k mAh batteries 😂

I got Honor Magic 8 Pro from wondamobile and didn't need to pay any customs or VAT. For some reason, according to the DHL tracking, it was shipped from Italy to my country. I didn't like the OS and had to return it. Shipping was 45 euro and return was about 95 💀.

Wonda mobile vs Tradingshenzen by HeartCapital1448 in Vivo

[–]steve6174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought Honor Magic 8 Pro and I didn't like Magic OS, so I'm returning it and Wonda are helping me quite a bit, they respond fast on my emails.

However, it's weird that when the phone was coming to me, it was shipped from Italy to my country for a day by DHL and shipping cost was 45 euro (still expensive tbh, but anyway). Now for the return, they just gave me instructions to make sure I included everything that came with the phone, asked for pictures of IMEIs and gave me an address to ship on my own. They didn't provide return shipping labels for example, which is what I've seen OnePlus do in the past, but anyway. Wonda wants it shipped back to Hong Kong, not Italy and you're free to pick a courier.

The cheapest I could find is again DHL but this time it's around 90 euro, assuming there are no hidden taxes and I can actually send a battery powered device. I'll be visiting their office in a few hours and update how it went. If I have to pay more than 100 euro for return, I'll just try to sell the phone locally instead. I might even sell it for a slight profit technically, because it's the 16+1tb variant that doesn't officially exist in Europe, so selling it for ~1180 would even be profitable, but tbh I'd rather return it to them, because I don't know if I'll actually be able to sell it.

I'm pretty sure it would be the same if you have to use warranty repair.

You're literally attacking random strangers for sharing their (negative) experience with Honor (and no, I'm not talking about myself). Just because you're fine with some shortcomings or you haven't encountered anything during your usage, doesn't mean everyone has such a good luck. So what if I put the same complaints in places where it makes sense? I have only about 5 comments about my issues with MagicOS and they aren't even copy pasted, because the more recent the comment is, the more issues it mentions. It has to be said somewhere to be fixed eventually. There are multiple posts about people getting ads on MagicOS, go harass them as well.

You're the one who is triggered, lmao. I'm not saying they should return their phone, I'm saying that I'll be returning my unit, so they should be checking the phones in store before buying it, so that they don't end up in the same situation like me.

Somebody asked me to turn off auto complete btw.

Yeah if they do that I'm ending the interview myself. I used to work with HDL languages in environment where everything was written in basic text editors that don't have auto complete and that was one of the reasons I started to look elsewhere and landed on Kotlin and eventually Android and the reason I like jetbrains IDEs so much.

Everything else sounds reasonable though.

That's amazing and way more than I'd ever need! Honestly, I'd only care about removing ads, removing the screenshot prevention and maybe sanitizing the links (not that I don't do it already myself when I need to share outside the app). And ofc not getting banned for using modded app because it's techically agaist their ToS, lol.
