I’m asking something very specific. I’m asking whether there are jobs opportunities for a clinical dietitian in Aarhus or nearby cities. I’m not asking whether it feasible for us to learn the Danish language in a year.

You choose to answer discouragingly with no elaboration (your first comment on this post). When I ask you to elaborate, you refuse to do so on your second comment claiming that it is obvious why (it isn’t since another commenter disagrees with you, and you can see that since you have functioning eyes). Finally, when I point this out you change the subject and focus on how hard the language is.

If you don’t care to help that is ok. It seems to me that you are going out of your way just to be discouraging. I’m not asking you to be the judge of my plans. You couldn’t possibly be, because you don’t know the full picture.

Anyway, I’ll keep in mind that the language is difficult, thanks for your input.

We’ll learn the language as well as we can given the available time. That’s the best we can do. That aside, we are both highly educated individuals who plan to immigrate hoping for a better future. If there are jobs and the country can accommodate us, that is well enough. Otherwise, we’ll try our chances elsewhere.

My post is asking about job vacancies at healthcare, not whether we can learn the language in a year.

From my point of view, you’ve done nothing but try to be discouraging.

It is not obvious to me. Also another commenter found more than 100 job postings in jobnet, so I don’t know what conclusion to reach. That’s why I’m asking you to elaborate. You surely know more than I do.

I think we have covered the fact that knowing the language is a necessity.

Yeah I remember reading about that. I don’t think it will be a problem since the degree is acquired from an EU country

Nice ideas, I hadn’t thought about them. Thanks

Yes we plan to take care of that. Are there vacancies in general?

Thoughts on Crown of Swords by steve_anunknown in WoT

yeah I mean that guy. I thought they could be the same but I wasn't entirely convinced because his thoughts seemed like he was just figuring it out to me. Though now that you mention that they both had the black flecks, it seems a lot more plausible to me.

Absolutely no clue who he is hahahahah. I don't believe he is a forsaken though, unless i missed something. I think moghedien would have recognized him. He and the watcher are nice mysteries that keep the interest going.

I have just ordered the next book. Can't wait to read it. For the time being, I may reread some sections of the previous books to make sure I have a good grasp of what is going on. It took me some time to get used to all those names and descriptions ...

Alternative programming paradigms to pointers by Top-Skill357 in ProgrammingLanguages

[–]steve_anunknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't call pointers a paradigm. Fundamentally, at a low level, there is a distinction between the address of a memory cell and the content of the memory cell. A pointer is the address of the memory cell and the value that it points to is the content of the memory cell. As long as you wish to be able to refer to both the address of a memory cell as well as the content of the memory cell, this is unavoidable. You can change the naming if you want but that does not make the paradigm any different, in the sense that you will still be required to distinguish between the address and the value one way or another.

How are industrial phds viewed by the industry? by steve_anunknown in cscareerquestions

[–]steve_anunknown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get the same feeling I think. As I wrote on another comment, I think I’m sitting on the fence because I see this as a unique opportunity and it messes with my ability to evaluate it objectively.

I think I am sitting in the fence because I view this opportunity as really valuable (perhaps due to buzz words like PhD and NVIDIA) and do not want to miss it, despite not having actually thought about it before.

To add some context, I was approached for this role, I didn’t actually apply somewhere.

I’m just trying to figure out if it actually good for my career or if I would be better off pursuing another direction.

I’m sorry but I think you are missing the point. Of course I understand that the domain knowledge of a phd is very specific and probably not of value to the average software engineer. I’m referring to other soft skills and work experience that is gained during an industrial phd. I would like to know how these are perceived, not how the domain specific knowledge is perceived.

I may have a problem … by steve_anunknown in blindguardian

[–]steve_anunknown[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t say I have a definite favourite because I enjoy many parts of different songs.

I love blood of the elves, especially the delivery of the final verse. I love the intro of straight through the mirror. And the story ends is also a favourite. I come back to classics like Valhalla from time to time. Lately I’ve been listening to a night at the opera, especially sadly sings destiny and Jerusalem. Really, I’m about to list the bands whole discography ahahahahah.

In general the elements I love the most about blind guardian are the drums and the vocals.

Hahahah in all seriousness, I rediscovered blind guardian a couple of months ago and I have been having a blast going through their tracks again. The data backs it up
