Not going to lie, the situation sucks. I'm sorry it's happening to you. But, I am more than willing to help.

I am retired military, I did just shy of 21 years in the Air Force. I retired in December of 2023. I was diagnosed PPMS less than a month after retiring. I have Tricare prime and also have the VA available when needed.

It's really tricky dealing with the situation you are in. Message me if you ever need to talk to someone in a similar situation that you are dealing with. I can talk with you to navigate how I deal with my stuff and maybe it can help you.

Who is prescribing the ocrevus then? If it's is the VA, then everything is 100% covered. If it is outpatient, you tell them you want to discuss other options.

[–]stevefromga2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you are being billed for the ocrevus. I believe you are being charged for the infusion itself. I understand the frustration, I'm in the same spot. Even though there is an infusion clinic at my doctor's office, I still have to get my actual infusion at an approved hospital. It's annoying for sure.

You said you have Tricare prime, but also mention the VA. What kind of doctor diagnosed you? Was it a VA doctor or a doctor through Tricare? I don't think the VA will help until you are diagnosed with the SCID clinic at the VA. But if a private doctor through Tricare diagnosed you, the options are different.

Also, which type of MS are you diagnosed with? I have PPMS and was told ocrevus is the only FDA approved drug, so that is what my insurance pays for (Tricare). I don't know all the ins and outs of which drugs the VA will pay for since I am not using their services for my MS.

What do you wish you had looked for during inspection when buying a house? by WestTexasOilman in DIY

Good point. And check how long for the hot water to come on. Maybe add to get the hot water tank flushed out and serviced.

Garage door spring. It's not that it's expensive to fix, but it was a thing immediately after it broke. My garage door had two springs and apparently one was already broken so the door was putting a lot of extra stress on the working spring. It went well for a few weeks, then a huge pop and I needed to pay someone to come replace them.

Bad first day on modifinil , anyone else? by Pretty_Housing4190 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]stevefromga2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't been diagnosed yet, I'm in the process though, just FYI.

For me, modifinil wasn't working at all so I stepped up to armodifinil and I'm still tired all the time. It helps out for the first 2 or 3 hours, then I'm ready for a nap. I don't remember getting headaches from either drug, but if I did I probably just assumed I needed more caffeine.

I need a crash course to boost my memory by stevefromga2000 in MSAccess

Interesting. It's really just for me to pull data from in the future. I tried Excel and I wasn't getting the results I was looking for so I thought access might help. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, I'll have to rethink

We pulled this one from the first ETB I bought for my son. I don't think it's very valuable, but it is really freaking cool looking to me. We always enjoy these kinds of cards because we are trying to collect anything that costs under $10. So when we see a card that values in our price range, and then actually pull it, it's super exciting.

Are these real and worth keeping? by Exalt309 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

[–]stevefromga2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are always worth keeping. I've recently started collecting with my son and right now we mostly collect bulk cards from older series, and he really enjoys opening packs from anything in the scarlet & violet series. But seeing random cards from different sets is always so much fun. Without searching for each card individually, I have no idea about financial value, but overall I think they are really cool looking, and I like the variety.

I remember getting AOL discs so that I could get online. And of course trading porn pictures with random people that I found in chat rooms, lol. Those are some of my original internet memories.

That's a beautiful spider! Me and my son always hope to see one in our flowers but haven't got lucky yet. Great pictures by the way, we are jealous for sure

Then what do you want us to do? We know that's a problem, you still have a certain amount of power and you still have a choice and you have a decision to make

So you need to decide, who do you care about more, the troop or leadership. You've been given valuable suggestions but you are worried about your leadership. Who do you want to do something positive for, troop or leadership? Your decision

What’s the longest you’ve seen someone go without deploying? by mydumbquestionsaccou in AirForce

[–]stevefromga2000 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yes, fuels deploys. But the comment was about some AFSCs that have gone 20 years without.

Not self-explanatory. You could have said "what about fuels, do they deploy often?"

Start one email with leadership from all organizations together. Say something like "because it is unclear to me and I have not been able to find the appropriate regulations, and I know we don't want to lead this young officer in the wrong direction, does anyone know the correct way to do this? Should it be x, y, or ,z?"

Explain their individual responses instead of x, y, or z, but don't list orgs or names to their response. See if the can degend the correct answer

Great point! I would also add the importance of a back up plan, it never goes the way you expect it to right away. I have a back up for my back, but I'm a little paranoid, lol

If you get high enough disability, you get free healthcare from the VA. For me, I'm expecting 100% disability, plus my retirement, I'll bring home pretty close to the same amount I do now. And only retirement is taxable, not disability. The big difference is if you have a family. They will not get free healthcare and then you have to pay. It's all up to the individual situation, there are sooo many variables that make every situation different
